The meat is good. The problem is the ridiculously salty food to the point its barely eatable. This is a problem when you have only 3 items in the menu.

Great food, home made! Lamb and pasta, together with baked vegetables and tasty Granny's receipts for desert. The rice with milk, amazing. The place is like an old country restaurant. Spent less than 15 dollars each. Good alternative for a Sunday lunch!

This is a very simple family owned and tiny restaurant lost in the hills of the Uruguayan countryside. It is a no-frills, haphazardly decorated place that obviously has been around for decades doing the same thing. You feel you are eating the meal that the farm owner would have had himself. The offering is 4-5 dishes that are brought out... More

This restaurant has wonderful food, good service, and we ate outside at a lovely shady patio. The small little town is delightful, neat and well in the country side. For those who stay in Punta del Este it is a perfect spot to leave the beach for a while. Reservation suggested, people just arrive all the time. Perhaps, a broader... More

We were there for lunch on a Sunday and had roast lamb. Huge chunk of great meat on the plate. Difficult to finish, though. It came with sweet potatoes as we were not given side options, we realized later there were baked potatoes that would have been better with the dish. Good red wine. This is not a fancy restaurant,... Me and my wife went to this restaurant to lunch and although it is a simple place the food is amazing! The rabit and the lamb were very very good, the potatos were also fantastic! It is usually known bu locals and turists are not that common yet but this is worth it to try to find this place! You... More

This restaurant is a lovely diversion on the scenic #12 route to El Eden and Minas. There were only a few of us in the restaurant which gave us a chance to soak in the quirky decor with armadillo light shades, a wood fired stove and a mural depicting an historical scene with native Uruguayans. Two of us had the... More

We went for lunch to a restaurant in the middle of no where, it is called "La Posta de Vaimaca" in Plueblo Eden, food was delicious, you need to book if not you are turned away. They cook only for the people that have book and it has 4 things on the menu; Roast Lamb, Lamb cooked in a vine... More

I've been to La Posta de Vaimaca several times since we moved to Maldonado. I'm so thankful we heard about it from a friend of a friend. Everyone who says La Posta is "something different" is absolutely right. When restaurants in Punta del Este can be tiresomely similar (and always expensive), La Posta de Vaimaca is a breath of fresh... More

Out of the way, a very quaint place where one is made to feel at home, in this simple but energizing environment. Maria Ines and Hugo, the owners, are passionate about their cooking. Romina the friendly, smiling and caring waitress made us feel at home. The food was excellent, prepared with fresh ingredients. The limited choice of wines did not... More
