Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Food was lovely and fresh and reasonably priced. We were served quickly but the place was empty. Lady server was very friendly and chatty. Dessert was tiny so not worth the €5.95, there was 2 mouthfuls of sherry trifle and it was made using those...store bought tins of fruit cocktail... Also nearly a fiver for a mediocre, bar coffee, I nearly fell over. We will be back, however, as mains were lovely but won't be ordering afters again.More

This is a pub that serves bland, mediocre food and they had 6 draft beer options with only one keg in operation and they were blasting a top 40 hits radio station with obnoxious commercials. The bottled beer was Luke warm and the server was...not very friendly. They only serve food until 7:30 pm. This town is not worth stopping in. Stay in Limerick.More

Just had the most beautiful afternoon at Clancys! We stopped for a quick bite near Lough Gur and enjoyed it so much we stayed for a few hours! We were not only treated to a really tasty meal, great coffee and tea too, but we...also met some lovely people! Very welcoming environment. Super staff. We were well looked after. We could see that lots of food was being ordered for delivery/collection too, reflecting the quality. The Hurling was on a few large screens around the place with volume perfectly managed to listen in or ignore and enjoy a chat. Look out for the rugby tie collection and the inspirational Cranberries art work and memorabilia. Check out the outside back area too! That will be extra nice during the summer! Lovely spot! We'll be back again.More

The best steak I’ve had in a long time but that was nothing compared to the mouth watering chocolate fudge cake! Amazing! I didn’t even care that I walked out with chocolate all around my mouth…. Amazing and attentive service too, highly recommended!

Called here this afternoon. Was asked on arrival had we booked a table. Place was empty. Like seriously. It was business for them. The woman that served us was very abrupt taking the order. Literally the whole thing seemed to b an ordeal for her....we appeared to b a nuisance to her. Gave us no time to think about what we wanted to eat. So abrupt and had the manners of a pig. €14 each for chicken nuggets an chips!! It costs nothing to be polite would not recommend and would not return for food... Food was less than average. Employee would turn anyone off. We couldn’t even stay for a second drink.More

Excellent food, everything on the menu is superb at a really good price. The staff are so friendly and the service is fantastic. Its hard to pick one thing from the menu to recommend as everything is so good. The management and staff are to...be commended for the job they are doing adhering to the social distancing rules. The premises are absolutely spotless.More

We went to Clancy’s Bar to see Paul Watchorn play. We loved the bar and the atmosphere. The bar was very busy but the staff were very efficient so we didn’t have to spend ages waiting to be served. Staff were very friendly too. We...enjoyed the band on first and Paul Watchorn was brilliant. We had a great night - so next time we will make sure we get there early enough to eat in the restaurant. Thank you to everyone at Clancy’s Bar.More

Yes, we share the same name. So when I stopped into Clancy's Pub in Bruff, I was happy to meet Mr. Jack Clancy, proprietor and history buff. He told me about his grandfather who was Mayor of Limerick, best friends with James Joyce and killed...by the British during "The Troubles." He also told me about famous racehorses from Bruff and Honey Fitz, JFK's grandfather and Mayor of Boston who hailed from Bruff. If that isn't enough to send you to Clancy's, then the friendly clientele, drinks and food should clinch the deal. Head to Bruff and Clancy's - you won't be disappointed.More

Good spot in a cute town! We spent the day in Lough Gur, exploring the lake and the many sites you can get to by car. Clancy’s is a short drive from the site and you are greeted by a welcoming staff and charming pub.
