After two weeks in the Azores, we were delighted to find some healthier menu choices. Vegetarians can certainly find their liking in this restaurant! Recommended (not veggie) are the 'lava balls': mashed potatoes filled with a sauce. Nice interior, friendly staff and a good price complete the picture.

My husband and I enjoyed a tasty and reasonably priced seafood dinner here a couple of nights ago. The restaurant definitely caters to tourists with an english menu and english speaking staff so if you are looking for a joint where the locals hang out, this was not it. Mind you we ate early, around 7, so maybe we were... More

Amazing food that has a great story. The owner is a charmy young man who runs the family restaurant. Paulo A Mendonça Costa will make your dinner memorable one, that will last a lifetime. Dinning room is Airy and open and allows you to soak up some of the beauty around while your eating dinner. Patio is also great for... More

Sorry we didn't discover this place earlier: a great restaurant with real vegetarian options is not easy to find on Sao Miguel. I had the Forkbeard; my wife's baked vegetables were very fresh. The appetizers are good, try the soft Azorian goat cheese with hot pimento sauce. The scoria (local ice cream and sweet pineapple) was a great dessert. Seems... More

We ate at Caldeiras & Vulcoes tonight. Our hotel recommended it for our meal tonight. Just around the bend from our Furnas Boutique Hotel. We had zucchini soup and Taro root soup. They were both tasty. We shared a large green salad with carrots, onion, tomatoes, and cucumber. Beautiful purple and green salad leaves. This was the first time in... More

Maybe I had high expectations after all of the glowing reviews, but this was the most disappointing meal I've had between Terceira and Sao Miguel. I ordered swordfish that was over cooked and only palatable when shredded and mixed in with oil and vinegar to basically make a salad with the mixed greens that came with it. While the staff... Just got back from the restaurant & had to write this review. The food was outstanding- nothing fancy but well cooked fresh fish in our case (mackerel fish & with Taro chips & swordfish with potatoes). We stay at the Terra Nostra hotel but will rather eat here!

Waited a long time to be seated and served, the restaurant was empty! Staff behind the counter on their mobiles! We had grilled chicken in yogurt sauce! It turned out to be a BBQ chicken with a dipping cold yogurt! Fish & chips was over cooked. Do not waste your money like I did! Never again!

We went there as a party of 5 for dinner, without calling ahaed no problem finding a table. We read that I'd was recommended for vegetarians, but although they have a few veg. Choices I wouldn't necessarily recommended it as a vegetarian Restaurant. Food was good, and the service was very nice.

Lovely restaurant with a pretty view of the mountains over the village. Enjoyed my usual filet around the world birthday dinner. It was a creamy peppers and onions filet dish, very well-prepared. They accommodated my curiosity for the volcano balls by adding them as a side on my dish instead of mashed potatoes. It was almost like Arancini, or stuffed... More
