Tucked away on the Four Seasons resort, this was our first visit to Amara (we've been visiting Four Seasons for years) and we were very pleased we went. The menu was very interesting - Yellow tail mosaic with tomato tartar, Ray "Alhada'' Grilled sirloin with carrot textures and beef jus. The wine pairings were perfect, and the sommelier was clearly informed and enthusiastic, and the table staff were friendly, helpful but not obtrusive. One of us chose not to have the paired wines but the vine verde she asked for was delicious too.
There's a lot of good seafood in Portugal, and some fine restaurants, but this was a bit special - the chef was clearly determined to show what he could do and we found it both impressive and good value for money (not cheap, but worth it).
We'll be back!

A beautiful, modern room with fabulous golf course views and comfortable seating, where you are welcomed and treated as a valued guest. Add in sublime food impeccably served, an experienced someiller’s wine pairings and you have an evening to remember. Our three visits to Amara during our three week October holiday were a highlight, and our guests were suitably impressed.
The current format is a set four course menu to be taken by all at the table, but when we encountered a dietary restriction by two of our friends, this was resolved with great courtesy.
We started with a tasty amuse-bouche on each visit, then on to a fish course with inventive touches to the freshest fish. The main meat or poultry courses were enhanced by seasonal vegetables and classic sauces. Natalie’s desserts are ‘to die for’ despite the fact that we were really quite full by the time they arrived.
The presentation, quality and flavour of the food could not be bettered.
We can’t wait for our next visit!

Everything about Amara is wonderful. The welcome, the decor, the pleasant and knowledgeable staff and the amazing food. We’ve been visiting Amara since it opened and we’ve always had a superb meal there. It’s excellent value considering the quality of the ingredients, the presentation and the flavour of each dish. The wine list is also excellent. Dietary requirements are handled without any fuss. I would heartily recommend this restaurant. It’s open to non members and non residents of Four Seasons Fairways. Once you’ve tried it, you will return

It is absolutely wonderful to read your comment. It fills our hearts to read your fantastic compliments and to hear about your experience at Amara! It was an incredible honour to be able to serve you, we are extremely proud of the work our team do and the quality service they provide, it means a lot to us that you recognise the effort and dedication we have. 6 of us went to Amara on a Saturday evening in Nov 21 and I would not recommend returning. I was hoping for a lovely evening - the welcome was warm, arrival cocktails delicious, bread tasty, Fado music creating a nice atmosphere. However, the meal went down hill and turned into a pretentious, over-priced experience with the food tasting distinctly average if not poor. The starter (crab salad with gazpacho) was obscured by overpowering spices/herbs, the next courses ok (steamed cod & pork) then the dessert of various bananas was lacking in imagination (I can cut up a banana, put it on a plate add some ice cream, but I wouldn’t put it as part of a €55 meal). What a shame as some in our party had been in Feb 2020 and said Amara was one of the best meals they’ve had in the Algarve.

The interior is incredibly beautiful and we enjoyed being seated at a very lovely place.
I was served a stunning starter, mushrooms in a very surprisingly way spiced and my husband a soup, both made us happy and expecting more.
We should have sticked by the starters.
My husband was served 6 small slices of beef, so full of tendons that half of it could not be eaten.
We both were served tasteless vegetables, some of it severely burned. Except the half onion which looked nice, but was out of place, because we do not eat onions and of course informed the staff about this.
My lamb was nicely soft and pink but had somehow lost everything that makes the difference between veal, beef and lamb.
The dessert was the same, nice texture but no taste.
In the end I had the strange impression that the famous cook left the restaurant after finishing the starters and took all the spices with him.
Anyway no one reacted not even to Michaels remarks about his meet , as if the fact that the main ingredient to the main course is awful , is not important) ,
So we left very professionell seated and waived good buy,

We visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary whilst staying in Fairways. We were not disappointed the overall experience was fantastic.
I think the change of menu from tasting to al carte helped due to the choices on offer.
We were taken through the available dishes by restaurant manager Samuel and made our choices, mushroom tortellini and rabbit terrine, for the main we choose duck and the black angus beef and finished with snickers and panna cotta.
Every course was superb, l supplemented mine with the wine tasting option, Bruno the wine sommelier selection of wine complemented the meal.
The evening was made even better when they produced a small anniversary cake.
Thank you Samuel, Bruno and Daniella you made our night
Will see you again next time we over

Very good restaurant in the very chic and pretty town of Quinto de Lago. The restaurant is cozy, the service is pleasant and the evening we were there we were delicately accompanied by a saxophonist and a singer. The dishes are delicious and the 3-course formula is 45€, which seems to me to be good value for money compared to the geographical area known as the golden triangle of the Algarve.

Fantastic food and superb service.
We’re eaten here a number of times and each time the overall experience has been faultless.
We both enjoyed the 4 courses which was great value. The only slight blemish was the pairing service was not offered due to the Sommelier not being present but it didn’t spoil anything.
Will be back without doubt…

Our experience at Amara Restaurant in Quinta do Lago was nothing short of remarkable, and we went there twice in one week, each time without any complaints. The impeccable service helped make our meals even more enjoyable. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, particularly regarding the wines. Daniela Rodrigues, the sommelier is very talented despite her young age and every recommendation was impeccable, complementing our dishes perfectly.
Speaking of the dishes, their quality was undoubtedly there. Each plate was a work of gastronomic art, both in terms of taste and visual presentation. The flavors were balanced and the ingredients were clearly carefully chosen to highlight each dish. The best thing about this restaurant is that you can compose your meal as you wish and in the order of dishes that suits you… just great
In short, our experience at Amara Restaurant was flawless. The quality of the service, wines and dishes, as well as the impeccable presentation, made our visits an unforgettable gastronomic experience. We were satisfied in every way. And thanks again to Selma Ferreira for everything! See you soon ! Dimitri

We ate twice at Amara whilst on holiday and had first class food, wine and service on both occasions. The octopus was the star of our first visit and the mackerel the star of our second. The wine pairings (great to see all Portuguese wines) were spot on. The staff were friendly and attentive. A first class restaurant for a special night out.

With beautiful views across the golf course, Amara is fabulous and must be tried. The concept is different, you can choose two or three dishes from the menu + dessert. There are no starters or mains as such, just a wonderful choice of dishes to choose from. We had the sole stuffed with prawns to start and the fois gras. Both were amazing. For our second course we had the suckling pork (omg!!) and crab risotto. Again, delicious. The wine list is extensive and fairly priced. You can have wine paired with your food if you so choose. The four of us agreed this is fine dining, sensible sized portions, also the service is spot on. Thanks to everyone at Amara for making our evening memorable.

Excellent service and friendly atmosphere.
The menu is a pleasant surprise with excellently prepared dishes, such as the pumpkin starter and the tiger prawn salad. I recommend the sole fillet or the suckling pig belly. In the end we wanted to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Nice intimate terrace overlooking the golf course. Friendly staff. You can pick your own 2 or 3 courses out of an extensive menu. Price setting is very good. Wine pairing was very nice as the sommelier could offer you different options for each course depending on your taste.
Food was excellent !

We are regular visitors to Amara and yet again and the meal, service and whole experience was outstanding.
We opted for the 2 course plus dessert along with the wine pairing.
The wines selected were new to us and matched the food very well as well as being delicious! These were selected by the new sommelier Rui.
The service from the other staff was outstanding as was view over the golf courses.
Overall a very special evening and we will return next month.

What a wonderful restaurant. The service was friendly and exemplary in all respects and all the staff were knowledgeable about the menu. The range of dishes made choices difficult and every one we had was perfect. A terrific combination of flavours and sensible portions. Great value for money.
