We didn't initially plan to have dinner at Le Belem, but ended up there when all the local places were closed for Carnival. I'll start with the good. The restaurant is very attractive and has a great view. Beyond that, not much... They did give us a heads-up that they were offering an Italian buffet rather than their usual menu.... More

We ate breakfast there every morning during our recent stay simply because it was included in the room rate. The service was very slow, and sometimes we had to ask for something twice, as it seemed that they ignored our first request. The hot buffet selection was very poor, with little choice, and fried eggs which had been there so... More

We nearly didn't go to this restaurant because of the poor reviews regarding service but we didn't fancy any of the other local restaurants so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because the service was attentive and friendly and paced just right. The food was excellent, cooked perfectly and presented well with a particularly interesting... More

This restaurant at the over-rated Le Cap Est is perhaps the biggest disappointment on the island. The restaurant is understaffed. There are not enough menus. After the first 3 tables are seated, you have to wait at least 1/2 hour to be seated. Then you wait again for a menu (another 1/2 hour). The appetizer takes approximately 45 minutes, then... More

We liked some of their appetizers. Only the set menu changed everyday. The choices are limited. Service is on the slow side. Expect to wait 30 min for your water on a busy day. One ceiling lamp kept switching on and off for 7 days in a row. No staff or management took the initiative to fix it. We did... More

This restaurant is in a lovely setting and well laid out, but the food is disappointing and the service is very slow. It is not good value for money.

Le Belem has already had exceptional reviews for its cuisine: they are accurate. An international cuisine with local accents prepared with French techniques. Not a large but an innovative, varied menu, whose only lesser area is desert. (At least for our choice on the night we were there.) Wine list with bottles of age and prestigious, also plenty of food... More

My wife and I travel to Martinique for vacations, and we have dined at Le Belem, the restaurant at Cap Est, a couple of times. This past month, we went in person to make reservations, but something went amiss. When we arrived the next night for our meal, Madam Ajax was incredibly abusive from the moment we walked in the...
