Lovely restaurant with a beautiful outlook. The food was fantastic, great portion sizes and excellent value for money. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. The menu is quite small with only 5/6 options on each course and a couple of specials, which may...be tricky for picky eaters and more complex dietary requirements.More

The new owners Steve & Phoebe are delightful and have worked so very hard to maintain the quality of service and food at The Oyster Catcher especially in such tricky times. We were a table of four and we had a delicious selection of starters...and main dishes which included squid, lobster, crab, goats cheese & mussels - all paired with delicious wines. The chocolate salted caramel desserts were out of this world too. The staff were very friendly and the service was superb. We will be definitely be back.More

I have visited his hostelry since 1960 and my last visit (last week) was one of the best. We drove over the hill from Glendaruel and needed a drink after reversing 4 times to allow vehicles to pass! The Oystercatcher is truly a great inn....The present team have made it especially welcoming. We hadn't booked but this was not a problem as we were early. The tables outside were colourful and clean, affording uninterrupted views of the Loch. My Cullen Skink was excellent, rivalling my own! The rarebit was equally good. The service was superb. This pandemic has hit the hospitality sector hard but here the team have worked diligently to provide an excellent experience. Thank you, we will return.More

The vegetarian lentil and aubergine dish was fab. Nick is very keen on any veggie dish that includes pulses. He definitely gave it the thumbs up. I had lobster - first time for me- thank you to our lovely waitress for the help and advice...on lobster-eating! Sadly she couldn't stop me from splashing my shirt with lobster juice! :) Chips were brilliant and a superb crisp house white finished off a nice meal.More

Wow. So happy we found this place- by accident! Just had lunch on a beautiful sunny day, sitting outside, overlooking Loch Fyne. Probably the best seafood I have had. We started with oysters fresh from the Loch then languistines and mussels and for main I...had fish and chips and husband had plaice. Best fish and chips I have had and husband says the Plaice was delicious. The mussels and languistines tasted so fresh and were served warm with bread and butter and a delicious sauce. Service was fantastic- I wish the new owners lots of success. We will be back again and again.More

New owners, Phoebe and Steven, took over the Oystercatcher just 2 days ago. Unfortunately the website, which says no bookings required for lunch, belongs to the old owners, who have not yet taken the website down yet. Advance Booking is required. Despite no booking, they...squeezed us in. It’s a cosy restaurant. Steven is the chef, Phoebe leads front of house. We had the fish and chips £14 which were great and the Vietnamese chicken salad, starter, as a main £13, which, with no carbs, ticked a lot of ‘weight watcher’ boxes. It was a dreach rainy day, so couldn’t fully appreciate the views across Loch Fyne - but hey, we will return again.More
