Of all the restaurant tavernas along the waterside in this Cretan village free of all cars, this is, in our opinion, the best. As many it is family run in a most professional way. You need to book ahead as it is popular with more than 30 tables, half of which are along the crystal clear waterside. All the food... More

Ilios offered great fresh produce and tasty dishes which was just the icing to the cake after a beautful in Loutro. Especially the free dessert: loukoumades with tons of Mereda chocolate cream were wonderful! Service was ok but a little impersonal.

Have just returned from a week-long stay in Loutro staying at Ilios. We had a lovely, spacious room overlooking the beautiful bay. Although we tried out some of the other restaurants we always came back to Ilios and were never disappointed. Ask to see the day's special dishes - all traditional Cretan fare - and find out what the fish... More

Very nice food, especially sea food and homemade. They could use a little better service but overall a very nice experience.

We ordered fresh salads and fish. The sea bream recommended by the waiter was excellent - wild (not farmed) and fresh. The swordfish was also excellent. Nice views over the harbour. Recommended for lunch or Dinner.

We went for a dinner there during our first evening in Loutro. We asked for a fish. The waiter recommended us the grilled (for me) and fried (for my husband) red mullet which we accepted. The fish wasn't tasty at all. It doesn't looked and smelled well. I think it wasn't fresh. I returned it back explaing I won't eat... More

I've visited this restaurant more than 10 times in the last 5 years. It never lets u down. Best thing to try is one of the house specialties, the fish soup. U have to order in advance. Make sure u step by that morning, make reservations and order the soup. Ask for a table by the water!

This tavern is accommodated just by the sea in Loutro. We sat in a table and when we turned the head in our left we could see the calm sea,the fish, some little boats and enjoy the serenity it offered. We felt so relaxed and calm. We didnt ordered much just 2 plates of cooked food which were very tasteful and... More

Ilios hotel and taverna was great. They accommodated us without a reservation and our room had an excellent view. The taverna has a nice selection of fresh fish and everything we had was delicious.
