Sometimes all you want is a nice sandwich, a soft drink and a place to enjoy good company near the beach. Barbara does this and does it well. Very highly recommended. Tell Barbara that Bill and Susan said hello, and thanks again.
Lovely atmosphere, great food, lovely people, can sit outside in garden or under cover, close to fantastic beach and historic sites. Fun little market on Sundays. Definitely should visit this little gem if you are in this part of Kerry.
Went with my family only to be abused by the staff for asking they follow basic hygiene practices in handling food.
Staff member couldn't even find the sanitiser he said he had just used after the last customer when asked. I watched and he hadn't...used sanitiser.
Pity to have a visit spoiled by bad customer service as location and facilities are super.More
I had spend many family holidays in Ballinskelligs when we were kids and it was quite a while since we had spent a few days in Kerry. One place I really wanted to return to was Ballinskelligs, it was a lovely day and we walked...the beach and visited the graveyard and ruins at one end. There was one shower and we took refuge in Caife Cois Tra where we had lovely toasted sandwiches, really freshly made and the staff were so nice. They found us a lovely covered in but open sided area to look out on. The rain stopped and we continued on our way.More
Barbara runs the cafe of our childhoods - scones, tea, beach and ice cream chosen from the old style freezer.
Create some memories with your children and visit.
As a regular to Ballinskelligs always great to see Barbara and her team love visiting meeting old friends and new don’t forget the relaxed coffee well worth a visit
We stopped here because one of the waitstaff back at our hotel recommended it. What a nice little cafe. The proprietor was super friendly and the lunch fare was quite tasty. So glad we gave it a try.
Visiting Ballinskelligs with daughter. Walked in - was made to wait several minutes while the lady behind the counter had a conversation with an already served customer and left me waiting 3/4 minutes before I was served. So instead of ordering lunch went with drinks....Not good manners to leave anyone waiting - but it's KerryMore
When you come up from the glorious beach that is Ballinskelligs, the best way to rest, rewind and reheat is to have a cup of Barbara's great coffee, some homemade cake or a hot panini. Food is very tasty, company is convivial. Get to meet...the locals and visitors. All converge to chat and are treated with a warm, graceful welcome from Barbara. We love it!More
