I visited Leitrim for two nights to do library events with school children. The library put me up in the Brandywell for the second year in a row and I loved it. The place is spotless and I felt very comfortable in my single room....I ate in the lounge two nights in a row. The food is very tasty - I'm a vegetarian and appreciated the cauliflower vegan steak and veggie lasagne. The coffee also is very good as was my porridge which can be hit and miss in other places. Since I had to leave early every morning, Gerry made sure I got my breakfast before the 9am slot. Highly recommend it.More
We stopped at the Brandywell for lunch while driving from Galway to Dublin. The Brandywell is a pub, restaurant and hotel all in one. The menu has a good mix of pub style Irish food but we went for the roast of the day which...was incredible! Highly recommend the Brandywell if you are looking for a hearty meal in Dromod, Ireland.More
We visited The Brandywell Restaurant in Dromod Co Leitrim for a babies Christening there was roughly 20 adults and four children 2 babies. We had 2 lovely large tables in a very pretty setting with plenty of room. The service was excellent, friendly young girls...who simply couldn’t do enough for us, anything we requested was seen to with a friendly smile and in a timely and professional manner. The menu covered something for everyone including children. The food was excellent, hot and served promptly and on lovely warm (not too hot) plates. Chips (that weren’t ordered) arrived in case anyone would like them. Dessert… my favourite was simply delicious, I had apple pie with custard and ice cream, and it couldn’t be faulted. If you like a friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food, you will not beat the Brandywell in Dromod.More
Lovely staff, great service. Very clean and tidy. Fish beautiful It's such a pity the soup and curry we're very salty
Great value for money, the Brandywell is a great spot and the food is so delicious. The staff are amazing, Jo in particular is so welcoming and will bend over backwards for guests. Allergens are very clearly marked on the menu, and there are lots...of options.More
In regards to review by GoPlaces34564789816 Myself and my partner have stayed here on many occasions as we were recommended by a family friend many months ago. Our most recent stay being a break away as I am pregnant and due a baby next month....I would suggest you might have reserved a table knowing your wife was pregnant? As after all it is a very POPULAR place to eat and to stay so it’s very likely all the tables were reserved. I have never once have a problem with any of the staff or management. Jo couldn’t have been more helpful when I came many times especially since staying there while pregnant I was even offered my bags to be carried upstairs for me as I did mention to them I was heavily pregnant and may struggle. If you don’t mention things then they don’t get sorted for you. You have contradicted yourself with your review because the start of your review you complimented the rooms and then went on to complain about the noise of other residents which is completely out of managements control. Wow 😂 As for talking down about the “young staff”, everybody starts somewhere and I think you’re a very ignorant person to ridicule young staff that are clearly starting out in a busy and popular place. Also for the price of the food I’ve went here for food without staying over aswell and let me tell you the quality of food and staff I would HAPPILY pay 50 euro for a single fish and chip never mind for 2. It’s called getting your moneys worth. If you had a problem with the price of the food why would you order it and pay for it and then give out about it. It’s people like you who like to run down a business for absolutely no reason because you had to pay for your poxy meal. Also, it’s not a five star hotel. It’s common sense to walk in and look for the sign to reception, were you expecting a man in a bow tie to meet you at the door and check you in? IdiotMore
GoPlaces34564789816 in regards to your post; I stayed there with my husband several times and just recently this past weekend, I could never fault the staff or treatment we received there. Gerry and manager Jo, was always there to accommodate any need or requirement. Food...service has always been amazing, fully cooked and priced for the quality for the food. We have paid higher prices in other restaurants for less satisfactory food. Rooms are always kept clean and odour free, any room we have ever stayed in has been kept up to a clean and hygienic standard. We regularly stay there as its one of our favourite places to stay over, as we are treated like family. Manager Jo is one of the nicest people, making us feel very welcome each and every time we stayed over. We already can't wait to book our next stay!More
I will start with the good. Very clean and fresh hotel. Room nice and warm. Clean and comfortable bed, clean room. Staff need more training. On arrival at hotel we had to look for reception. When we approached the bar to check in we were...not told that there would be building and banging going on for the duration of our stay. The guests made lots off noise going to rooms at night. It was difficult to get to sleep. The bathroom was laid out poorly toilet too close to near wall. A grown man has to squeeze past. Funny smell coming from dated shower. Bathroom needs modernisation. For Breakfast every morning of our stay the young staff got our order wrong. They were running around without taking proper order. Rashers under cooked for my pregnant wife. Went down for evening meal, they had half the bar reserved and had not allowed enough seating for the guests. €50.00 for 2 fish and chips a bit pricey. They made my pregnant wife sit at the bar.More
Lovely staff , amazing food. Having previously been for a fantastic breakfast , we returned today for lunch. Turkey and ham, buttered veg, mash , with a truly delicious gravy - could have licked the plate it was so good! Beautifully presented too . Highly...recommendMore
Went for Sunday lunch here, the staff were very friendly & welcoming. Nice selection of food to choose from. The slow cooked beef was delicious so tender, came with plenty of mash, roastie, yorkshire pud & veg. Will definitely return here again
I had the pleasure of eating in the Brandywell recently. I decided to opt for the Chowder starter as it was recently added to the menu. It was one of the best I ever had meaty fush and veg cooked to perfection flavoursome and really...a wholesome meal in itself. Compliments to the chef who really knows how to create a great meal in a bowl. Top marks and woukd highly recommend this dish.More
We had an amazing time! That you to all the staff, especially to Jo! Rooms were spotless, spacious, clean. The bed was very comfortable. We did have a little giggle with the positioning of the frosted glass in the bathroom. The breakfast was gorgeous and...the staff was very accommodating to mum with her required food. And the cooked breakfast was great. We loved how breakfast was to 11am, it just meant you could have a walk in the morning before or a longer sleep on holidays. Would recommend!More
My wife, son and I stayed one night. Food was excellent, accommodation was great, staff brilliant. A lovely place to eat, drink and stay in a beautiful part of the country. I would highly recommend.
The Brandywell is a smart looking spot, in a great location. The staff are friendly, and efficient. The place is certainly clean. It has all the makings of a great place but unfortunately the food lets it down a bit. Nothing particularly BAD about the...food, just very plain and pricey for what you get. Mediocre at best.More
