During our Fairmont stay we dined here for lunches and a dinner and were very pleased. Service was friendly and prompt and both menus were outstanding. For dinner there is also live music which enhanced the experience. Highly recommend.
Having just returned from a week in Barbados and dining out at MANY places, there are
some things that are very apparent after having sampled numerous restaurants:
1) you will pay a significant amount of money to dine at all of the "higher-end" restaurants, 2)...in some restaurants the wait staff will truly be glad that you are there, and they will be professional, knowledgable and FRIENDLY, 3) in many restaurants
the staff is unfriendly, unprofessional, and they act as if they are doing YOU a favor by having to wait on you and be your server.
Taboras is an example of Numbers 1 and 3---- expensive AND with an uncaring attitude.
A horrible combination.
When I reached out to simply share this feedback with Management, it fell on deaf ears and was ignored.
Keep looking for other alternatives when you are down in Barbados.
There truly are places that want you there dining with them and they prove it. Here's just a few: Cin Cin, Lone Star, and The Horny Ram.
Enjoy......I hope you put this info. to good use.More
As part of fairmont hotel , excellent restaurant, service and quality of food , with a good selection of food , never had a poor dish everything we had was very good , especially the fish tacos and fillet steak
We ate at Taboras on two evenings of our holiday and while it was decent and situated just by the beach, there was no wow factor which would’ve made us “eat in” more often than we did.
We had home cooked pizzas and salad plus...a delicious chicken roti one night and we also had a roast chicken dinner on the Sunday of our stay which was good but no more. As I’m currently searching for the best roast dinner around London when at home it had a lot to live up to be fair and was unlikely to be able to compete.
Service is fine and the wine list very decent including one of my favourite reds “Chocolate Block” at a very fair price too.
One issue I had as a resident was that we were never made aware of the special evenings they put on, usually with music - we went into Holetown for reservations more than once and were surprised to see live music, BBQ’s etc on our way out. I really feel they could’ve done more to push the restaurant and feel sure that we might’ve eaten here more if they’d advertised what was going on.More
Service was extremely average. Was seated by one person who took my drink order, which never came out. Then asked by another person what my order was. Meal and drinks were good, but it literally took 30 minutes for someone to bother to pick up...my credit card.More
Staff extremely friendly and welcoming on arrival. Food was tasty and quite a varied offer although had to ask for more meat at the bbq as a very small portion was initially offered. Ordered 2 beers and 1 bottle of 80 bbd wine. Then came...the bill! For 4 people 740 bbd, then the exchange rate for usd was a bit iffy! We expected it to be expensive but for a bbq we were, shall we say, surprised!!! We are not staying at the hotel and unsure if there is a price difference for non hotel guests? Wont be going back.More
