Everything about this restaurant is amazing! The food is great, the service, the wine list, the view, location, everything! I highly recommend it! But of course, it is quite expensive, but was worth the amazing pleasing lunch!

Memorable and exquisite. Experience fine dining with amazing food through a sensory ride of tastes and emotions. Great service and unique architecture combined and set in a great location, hanging on top of a river.

This was our 2nd best meal over three weeks in Portugal. I had the Nebu Duoro and my partner opted for the Signature Menu, each 7 courses with very interesting and beautiful amuses-bouches and wine pairings. The highlights were the fish and seafood - the...More

This was recommended for lunch by our hotel at it didn't disappoint. We enjoyed the chefs surprise, the red mullet and the chicken dish. The pre dessert was an explosion in the mouth and the actual desserts were sublime. The service was excellent throughout.

One of our top 3 restaurants during out 2 week Portugal vacation. Amazing setting on the bank of the Duoro as the sun sets behind the vineyards. Friendly and helpful staff, great service, excellent food. Can't ask for more!

This place is a gem and what I personally look for when I travel. Such refined food especially with the main courses the porks cheek and the veal as well as the lamb cutlet were on point and mesmerizing to eat.

Rui Paula's DOC restaurant is aptly named. Committed to locally sourced ingredients as much as possible, using local staff. Set on the North bank of the beautiful River Douro, with views over the river and the vineyards opposite epitomises the nature of this tranquil, verdant,...More

We had lunch there in December and attended in casual "wine tour" clothing. I think for dinner it would be very much the same. I would consider this an upper end restaurant but it is located in the countryside and I don't... More

Douro is river, villages and suspended vineyards on imposing slopes. It's wine with designation of origin but also D.O.C, Taste of Certified Origins. It was based on this analogy that, in 2007, the DOC restaurant was born. Situated in Folgosa, Armamar, on the road between Regua and Pinhao, in what is one of the most beautiful scenic routes in the country, the restaurant occupies a building of contemporary lines with a picket based that extends along an elegant wooden deck overlooking the river. Designed by the architect Michael Scott, the structure also includes a river dock with capacity for 15 boats, a wine cellar and a car park. It's a place of enormous beauty, blending the grandeur of the vineyard covered mountains and the serenity of the Douro river and the riverside villages, only awakened by the regular passage of the train. DOC serves as a window on this breathtaking scenery, making every meal a unique and special moment. Since it opened, the restaurant has been the target of a growing recognition of press and public. David Lopes Ramos, the 'Publico' renowned food critic, thus referring to DOC, in an article published in the 'Fugas' supplement: "DOC is a unique case, because, alone, made the Douro kitchen Douro sophisticated and creative in a level previously unknown. This in Douro, our most prestigious wine region. "
