We ate here for lunch. The language barrier on my part was a problem. I ordered quesadilla and was served a cosada. It was good, but not what I ordered. I will try again. It is on a busy road. The decor is charming and authentic. Reasonable prices.

We thought the food here was just fine. The price was good. We start to run out of restaurants when here, so this is a good option when you've been to all the others.

This restaurant offers great food, ambiance, and service. It offers a great and tasty variety of tico cuisine, at very good prices.

Wide variety of menu options from steak to seafood to typical Tico fare. The garlic shrimp is my favorite. Full bar with a decent wine selection. Excellent service. Frequented by both Ticos and Gringos.

We went there for dinner last Sunday and the chicken fajitas were very good. My husband had the chalupas and my dad had a casado. All was good. The music from the bar was a little loud so we tried to find a table in the back. They have a very nice garden back there.

Staff were very nice, does not speak English. Not fond of the parrots they have there in cages, I am not sure if they let them out or not. We ordered steak which had a horrible taste on it, I am assuming that's the taste of Costa Rica beef. I would not go back here.

A broad menu of much more than Tico food makes this appealing to some, though don't expect the Tex-Mex to be anything like what you get in the states. But acceptable. I haven't tried dinner menu yet, but heard that their steak is good.

We arrived ~6 pm on a Sunday night to an empty restaurant and were a bit concerned but hungry. We had mostly typical dishes on our last night in the country. It was all good, especially my last batido. By the time we left, the place started to fill.

My family and I came here for dinner on our last night in Atenas, and we were really happy we did! Everything we ate was amazing, and we were very pleased. The staff didn't speak english, but we were still able to communicate with our limited spanish food vocabulary. I highly recommend Jalapeños for a nice atmosphere and great food... More

Six of us spent 6 weeks in Atenas during winter of 2015. Our home for the vacation was Cas Doughty on the west side of the town. We tried most of the places in the area to eat out, but we alwys returned to Jalapenos for a comfortble night out and good food. Hospitality was always welcoming, in spite of... More
