I had a hard time choosing something, but NOT because there were so many exciting things to try. It was because everything looked so ordinary and unexciting. I finally settled on Polish potato pancakes and a polish sausage. The sausage was actually quite nice. Good...More

Kay's was a cute little restaurant with delicious food. We are only in town for a week and I would like to go back for another meal before we leave the country. The staff was so friendly and kind. You must try this place

Heard it was good since they are new owners. I was charged $30 for 2 chicken sandwiches, a salad and a "fresh orange juice". Food straight from the frozen food section of your local grocery. I honestly hope they do well but they really need...More

Enjoyed our brief coffee and pie stop. Looks like a cute place for expats and others. Lots of books. Coffee was good.

Awesome place with lots of English spoken here. Delicious chocolate cake and great local coffee. We started in this town and drive back through to go to another area.

Description
Kay's Gringo Postres roughly translated means Kay's NorthAmerican Sweets. Kay and her husband, Tom, from South Dakota, started out as a tiny pastry and coffee shop and grew into the only place in Atenas and for miles around that serves real American soul food - heavenly cheeseburgers and crispy fries, several types of grilled cheese sandwiches, BLT's, amazing breakfasts as well as an all you can eat Sunday Brunch buffet. The cakes, cookies and pie are homemade and defy description. It's a gathering place for locals as well as expatriates, They also maintain a lending library with English, German, French and Spanish books.
