Beware this place can be packed and with people waiting. So if you are keen remember to write yourself up when you get there or get jumped in line. And you may have to wait a bit at the table because it is so busy. But once your order is in it takes no time for it to arrive. The... More

Don't miss it. Traditional Yamanashi pref. food gotten nowhere else. Sets have horse meat to eat with thanks. Just the Houtou is enough.

When in Yamanashi, you must try Hoto noodles. This chain restaurant offers Hoto with affordable price in an quaint atmosphere. We arrived right around noon and had to wait about 15-20 mins but it was worth it. The menu is not big but it has everything that you should try while in Yamanashi. The dish comes in cast iron pot.... More

We had our lunch here sitting at a traditionally low table with a hole under it to relax our legs. It is a nice dining room and we found the service to be pleasing. We had their signature dish "houtou noodles" which was delicious. The restaurant is easy to find after a short walk from a Red bus stop.

Pros: - Authentic Fuji region food and they tasted good. - It gave us the Japanese feeling of dining as the interior was somewhat of traditional style. A very interesting and nice experience. - Big enough to choose where you want to be seated. - Fast service. - Big parking area - English menu provided Cons: - Toilet is squatting... More

We visited the area in August and was recommend this restaurant by our Hostel. We had the pumpkin Hoto and it was amazing. Good atmosphere and traditionally decorated. The employees knew a little English which was helpful and there were a few tourists in there but not many so we could have a good chat!

We were a bit sceptic when we first read about big tourist busses being unloaded here and expected something of a drive through atmosphere. When we got there in the evening, there were no tourist busses and we also really liked the atmosphere inside the huge cabin like dining hall with Japanese style tables. The food was really tasty, had... More

We stumbled upon this place, but had a very nice meal. Portion was good, we ordered Tonkatsu with our Houtou and everything was really good!

Easy to find: it has a waterwheel out front and is the size of a supermarket. Traditional seating, only a few have a footwell to make things more comfortable. We had Pumpkin, Mushroom and Seafood hoto; all I could say is it's a good thing I like pumpkin since there were large pieces in all three dishes. Plenty of different... More
