Our hotel concierge recommended my husband and I visit this hole in the wall local seafood place for lunch one day. It is off the beaten path, right on the water. Very rustic. You order at the front counter where u pick your fish and or shrimp selection, sides, and drinks. (For $31 we got the fish and shrimp for... More

Local recommendation that did NOT disappoint! This was BY FAR the best restaurant we tried during our week in Aruba! The line was long to order, but the wait was worth it! I wasn't sure about eating something looking back at me (the fish was deep fried with eyeballs intact), but after nibbling off a bite... i started wondering whether... More

Nice place on the ocean shore. Fish and shrimp fresh catch that day. Prices reasonable, service is OK. If you are unaware of how the process works it can be confusing. Go to the counter as you walk in - place your order and then go find a table.....go early and send someone in your party to get a table... More

Went to Zeerover on the recommendation of a local. Was definitely a popular place. After a short wait, went up to the area to order and watched them pull the fresh Red Snapper and shrimp from the coolers and prepare to send to the cook. Added some fried plantains and French fries to the order. All was quite good. The... More

Zeerovers (pirates or “sea thieves” in Dutch) is a unique and fabulous experience, where you stand in line to select the fresh fish and colossal shrimp of your choice – caught just hours earlier, pay by weight, and then take a seat at a wooden table on a pier overlooking the water while you await a speedy delivery of the... you need a car or a taxi ride for this place, but it is by flying fishbone, on the way to baby beach and is a perfect lunch stop (savaneta) why lunch? because when the fish runs out, that is it....so you can try for dinner but there is no assurance that there will be anything left to eat they... A bit out of the way but worth the trip! You walk up to the counter outside and they have a list of the fish they caught that morning (or are on their way in). Grab a local beer at the next counter and walk around to the seating on the pier style dining area. Great views of the water... More

Everybody we met in Aruba told us we have to go to Zeerovers, so we couldn't wait to go there. Unfortunately, the real thing did not live up to the hype. At the first window. you buy the seafood by the pound and they flash fry it and bring it to your table. You go to another window and order... More

The lines start early and go all day, because this freshly caught and cooked right on the dock fish is the best of Aruban local traditional cuisine. You order your freshly caught catch of the day by the pound with sides at the window, get a number then go to the bar for your drinks while they cook your food... More

Description
Zeerovers is a local bar and restaurant situated on the waterfront in the fishermen's town of Savaneta. Here we serve fresh fried fish and shrimps with side orders of fried plantain, french fries, pan bati(local version of cornbread), onions in vinegar and tartarsauce. Everything is served to you in a basket as you sit on the dock overlooking the water as fishermen bring in their catch which in fact could have been your meal if you came a few hours later. That said, this is not a place for fancy dining but rather a place where you are welcomed to kick back, relax and get your hands dirty.
