Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have visited Bombas regularly over the last 7 years and it has continued to improve in both service and quality of food. Service can be slow when the restaurant is busy but you go to relax for the evening and have a few rum punches and the world seem a much better place. Wayne the proprietor is an interesting character but is very attentive and please to make sure you evening is enjoyable.

This is a gem of a restaurant. It has the best rum punch on the island, lobster to die for, a great location on a beautiful little beach, a buzzy fun vibe and a warm welcome from owners Wayne and Devotha. Can’t wait until we are back again next year.

The owner Wayne has worked really hard to create an authentic fusion of Bajan, Indian and Asian food.
The food is well presented and as good as any of the more prestigious West Coast restaurants.
The ambiance is a chilled and laid back vibe with an unadulterated view...quote literally on its own beach.

Picked here to order take away for my family recently as it was recommended by the place where we were staying. While I was waiting at the bar for my order I observed the owner/manager verbally abusing the staff at which point I should have turned around and left. When the order came I noticed it wasn’t right and queried this with a staff member - they had left out half the order. Cue Owner/manager berating the staff in front of me again. He also made a big deal out of me wanting to pay by card as if he was doing me a favour having added on service charge to my take away bill!! He arrogantly refused to take the service off the bill. Needless to say I won’t be recommending this restaurant to anyone and would go as far as saying AVOID at all costs. Terrible terrible experience

This is an amazing setting and should be (like the Seashed down the road) booked out on location only. However, food was very average and exceptionally over priced even for Barbados which says a lot given is £6 for a coffee most places! . Food was unremarkable and most of specials not available and place completely lacked atmosphere.

We go to bombas every time we come to Barbados. Usually we have a lovely , tasty meal and whilst interaction with the owner is hit and miss , the food always makes up for it. On our current holiday , we made the trip to bombas , taking a taxi from St. Peter , I usually have the veg curry and it was nowhere near as tasty and husband has the chicken curry which was luke warm and had to be sent back. The owner, Wayne was quite surly and after our shared , over priced starter (in our opinion ) barked at us , making sure we were aware it’s cash only ! Meal for two cost £60 which was one shared platter , chicken curry and a veg curry and one local beer ! The girls were lovely .. but that’s the only thing that was.

Many items on the menu were not available, one had not been available since last July. The Specials Board was not priced and some items simply poor value for money. Food was average once I had found something they actually had. Very average service. Basically left feeling ripped off. Won’t return.

We ate here with friends and had an amazing meal in a truly wonderful location right by the sea. Bombas may not have the finesse of some other restaurants on the Platinum Coast but it makes up for that with great simple food served with a wonderful smile. Don’t be put off by some of the posts, go in and engage with Wayne and the team and you will have a fantastic experience.

I’m a real foodie and I love eating out. I give credit where credit is due and here its definitely not due! I had had previously a reasonable meal here, a couple of years ago, and on the basis of the pretty good reviews, decided to go back this year. A grave mistake!
How is it possible we could have such a different experience to those who’ve left such shining recent reviews? Maybe the normal chef was on holiday? Who knows but our experience was not as the reviews... The food portions were mean, of poor quality & the prices were too high.... DON’T GO!!

Two Stars are for the atmosphere and beach view. We weren’t a “regular” so kind of treated like an inconvenience and not as good as our neighbours. (Weird since we were fully planning on coming back since we were staying close before this. How do you become a regular?!) Was even laughed at at some point. The owner looked at us like we were dirt after I asked him for a menu so I could order another drink, then didn’t bring one. Food was way overpriced for what it was. Tried to ask questions to get the right food for us. For example, “What do you recommend here?” Answer “I don’t recommend.” Nice. At least entertain the question?! Don’t try to explain what you are in the mood for either. Not worth the cost, go down the coast and pay a tiny bit more for excellent service where you are welcome.

Great evening. Stopped in around 6:00 for a meal while catching the sunset. My expectations were high and the owner and his staff exceeded my expectations. Service was great, quick, friendly and food was awesome. I had the catch of the day, Lion fish and it was perfectly prepared and enjoyed a few Ten Saints to top it off. Guest I was with enjoyed his flying fish also. Not sure if you can set any closer to the ocean in the area. Seating is limited, we didn’t have to wait but if you have to, it’s worth it. Atmosphere was perfect and I’ll be back in a regular basis.

After getting a recommendation from several locals, my wife and I decided to check in and have dinner at Bombas Beach Bar. The establishment itself is beautiful, and the staff was amiable and attentive. The view was exquisite, and the vibe was unique. If I leave my review at that, this would be a five-star review. Unfortunately, the food could have been more varied, flavorless, and overpriced. Perhaps we had a lousy cook that evening, but it did not match my expectations based on other reviews.

Located right on the sea it is a nice setting although if it is windy the waitress said you can sometime get splashed by the waves so maybe ask to sit on the higher deck area. Food was tasty, not huge portions but nice enough. We were there early around 6.45 so service was very prompt but by c8pm we did see some guest looking a little impatient as no one had come to take a drink or food order. We also struggled to get a taxi back to the hotel, not their fault of course but might be worth getting a card from the taxi that drops you off.

Arrived early for a booking, welcoming staff, friendly service, filled up quickly from 6pm onwards .
Introduced to the 10 Saints beer, most enjoyable.
We chose chicken wings as a starter, fish curry, very tasty and enjoyable. Wonderful atmosphere, adjoining table was celebrating a 30th birthday.
Clearly a popular destination.

The restaurant is small and casual, with many of the tables having a pleasant view over the sea. However we had to stand for an hour and a quarter waiting for our table, despite a reservation which we had also confirmed hours in advance. We shared a number of appetizers which were disappointing. — over fried or lacking in taste. We each had a seafood curry as a main course which was tasty but not exceptional. The food is overpriced for the quality. I’ve been very impressed by the COVID protocols at restaurants, bars and other attractions throughout Barbados but this was the one exception. Our hands were sterilized on arrival but there were no other protocols, including no wearing of masks by any of the staff. Some staff members had a mask around their neck but it was never pulled up. They say no credit cards but they will accept them.
