Visited here midweek, at first thought we were in the wrong place but we were directed to the a Restaurant area. The staff were friendly and helpful and the decor impressive. The food was hot tasty and not expensive, with just enough time between courses. The only negative was when we ordered desserts my husband asked if he could have... More

Now an Italian Restaurant, the food is nice but it was much better when it was a proper pub, The Board Inn. The front bar is merely a waiting zone for your table. No after meal relaxing zone. Bit disappointing.

We've visited this restaurant on many occasions over the last few years and have always found the food, service and choice of food very good indeed. The staff are both helpful and friendly.

Visited here with my husband. We ordered from the early bird menu. We both had the bolognaise and asked for penne pasta instead of tagiatelle which wasn't a problem. The early bird price was £4.95. I wasn't expecting much. How wrong was I. Easily the nicest pasta bol I have ever had. I couldn't finish the portion. The taste was... More

My family and I visited here for an evening meal and I must say it was rather good. I had mussels, cooked nicely but perhaps the sauce could have done with being a bit thicker. I then had prawn and chorizo pasta which again, very nice but I wasn't blown away. I've had better Italian food but by no means... More

My wife and I travelled up to Tyneside to attend a function. We booked into the Washington North Travelodge for an overnight stay. We asked Shirley in reception if she could recommend an eatery nearby. Shirley advised that we may like to try the Tavistock Retro Italian located just a few minutes walk from the hotel. We decided to give... More

Lovely welcome as we didn't book and it was very busy. The food it fabulous. The staff go out of their way to make sure you enjoy it. It looks a bit dull when you walk into it through the pub but once your out the back its fantastic
