Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stopped at the Ship before taking the ferry from Itchenor to Bosham on our cycle ride around Chichester. We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed nicely cooked fish & chips, delivered with friendly service.

We recently booked to stay at the ship, 2 couples plus 2 dogs. The location was great, short walk to the beach and ferry to bosham. Great value for money accommodation. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was very good and reasonably priced, even treats for the dog ! Will definitely recommend and return.

We walked along the beach from Bosham and then over to Itchenor on the little ferry so our party of seven were really ready for refreshments. Luckily we had booked as it was extremely popular. The food was really nice and freshly prepared . Only downfall was the 40minute wait but that just shows how popular it is.

We stopped by - without booking - for a pub lunch to be followed by a dog walk. Both of these were incredibly pleasing experiences! The people at The Ship Inn couldn't have been more welcoming and the food was great. We all enjoyed the walk too, especially Dexter the springer spaniel...

We had got the Ship Inn just after opening on a mid week day and it was getting busy. Some people came in and booked tables to come back later. The friendly staff seated us, the dining area had well spaced table and the décor had many nautical items. We both ordered a baguette, hubby the pulled ham and fried... More

My husband and I thought we would go for a walk down to Itchenor to work up an appetite. We walked passed the ship and decided on the way back we would stop for a drink. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly man behind the bar who welcomed us like old friends. We ordered our drinks which... More

We ate here on a Saturday night recently. The choices were fairly standard pub fayre but they were executed brilliantly.

Visited with friends for lunch in May 2017. Service was fine but main course food not all it might have been. I had a whole Dover Sole on the bone, from the Specials Board but it had no discernible flavour, as if it had been deep frozen or even not locally caught, but being on the Specials Board I had... Upon a recommendation by friends who are familiar with the area, we called in for lunch at the 'Ship' recently & were not disappointed. Although the pub was very busy, we particularly appreciated the friendly & professional service throughout our meal. The food too was quite outstanding - fresh, tasty & of sensible portion size. Our only dilemma was how... More
