My husband and I stopped here while traveling through Castilla-La Mancha, and it was 100% worth the trip. The restaurant is surrounded by the iconic windmills of Don Quijote and historic cave dwellings, which you can easily tour before or after your meal. The restaurant...has a more traditional dining area upstairs, but I recommend reserving a table in one of the caves on the lower level. The food was spectacular! We started with several typical Manchego dishes to share: migas, artichokes in olive oil, gachas, and morteruelo. As a main dish, we shared the fried lamb chops. At that point, dessert seemed impossible...but we couldn't resist! My husband loved the chocolate heart with violet ice cream, and I had the chocolate fondant filled with pistachios (which are grown locally). The service was just as incredible as the meal; the owner even stopped by our table to ask where we were from and made some suggestions for typical dishes. Overall, this was a dining experience unlike any other, one that we will never forget. P.s. Don't leave without a bottle of their olive oil!More
