Get this chowder, eat it outside on the picnic table, enjoy the view. Simple as that. The chowder is delicious, it's beautiful outside. I feel like my review might've changed if the weather was worse.

When I went they were not offering table service but we were free to use the dining room to eat our take out. If the weather was nicer we probably would have sat outside as they have a nice view. Chowder was alright, restaurant was...More

We had fish and chips here for lunch as part of our Cabot Trail day trip. The food was okay but the service could have been better, as in, with a smile please! Oh well, the Cabot Trail was exceptional!

Place was packed and we found out why. We did not order seafood but most everyone else did. Lobster dinners looked very good . It took a while to get our food but it was worth the wait. Their monster burger was incredible.

Our party had two kinds of chowder and fried clams. None of them were good. How does this place manage to get both five stars and two stars?

We plan on closing Oct 15. We are open 11:30 am until 6:30 pm. Sorry, we do not serve breakfast.
It is unfortunate you feel this way. I am the waitress you are referring to. I had offered each and every customer that arrived at the restaurant that day to be seated in the cooler section. Unfortunately there were no tables available at that time and people waiting to be seated.. They preferred to sit in the section that had the best view as did yourself with your group. There was only one lady in the group of 6 that was uncomfortable and I did keep checking her. The others in her group were fine. The gentlemen with her also thanked me for the wonderful service. Their food was ready to be served and we were not to have people moving to tables (with food in their hands). We are very small and try our best to accommodate each and every patron. We always go over and above what is expected of us. As for "seniors beware" we host residents from the nursing home every year and they are treated with the utmost respect. We hope you do return to our restaurant and as they were before, circumstances will be friendly and accommodating. We appreciate each and every comment that it placed on this site. I am certified with Tourism Nova Scotia and have worked in the Hospitality Industry for a total of 20 years. There is always room for improvement in any business no matter what the circumstance. When you return we will treat you and each person young and old equally as we always do. Thank you for your patronage. I hope your next visit to Cape Breton will be a pleasurable one.

This was not my review. I had no trouble with any of the staff which I indicated--just the food--probably the worst I had in Nova Scotia during our three week vacation. We were a couple.
