Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Singing Pub is a family run business which in this day and age is in itself unusual. The family friendly experience and personal touch flows through out the venue in it warm welcome, family atmosphere and uncomplicated customer service. The food is local and...fresh, the Guinness is very tasty and from 9 a 90 will enjoy the warm open fires, music and mix of local, Belfast, Northern Irish, Irish and international visitor who all join in a fun melting pot of a “good day or night out”More

Finally got to visit the signing pub, which is not that is on our “list” we were suppose to go ourselves but decided to bring the children and make a day out of it after a nice walk on the beach. The children were hungry...and excited. Walked in the door and greeted by a bar maid he wasn’t overly friendly and told us to sit where we wanted. Sat down and shortly later another waitress/barmaid arrived to take our order. Again quite unfriendly and didn’t really seem like they wanted us there. Ordered our food and it arrived the children finished it up quickly enough, the children portions weren’t very generous considering the price I’d have thought it would be better, one of the kids was still starving and we gave him some of our food and he went up and bought a packet of bacon fry’s which were €2. I work in this industry and I’ve never seen a packet of them that expensive. The children’s food was good quality to be fair, just not very big portions. I ordered the seafood platter which was €26 it was basically a bowl of small prawns in sauce, 3-4 battered kind prawns, and some fish, and some mussels. I was very unimpressed. I must say, the food that we did get was good quality and tasted good. It’s just a pity about the other few things. The place itself was warm and clean, with a lovely turf fire that you could smell through out the place which had a lovely country feel to it, unfortunately my 11 year old son came out of the gent toilets and said it was “absolutely disgusting” and smelled really bad. We’ve all over Donegal for dinner, it’s something that we do regularly but I don’t think we would return here.More

Checked on their website which showed they were open from 1 pm with food being served from 5 pm. Drove from Derry with my wife, her sister and husband, as a birthday treat. Arrived around 2:30 pm, place was locked up and not a sign...of life about the place. It wouldn’t have taken much to update their website and Facebook profile and saved us an 88 mile fount trip.More

Popped in for late lunch and party of 8 was accommodated without problem. The staffers were friendly and good humoured, and our orders arrived promptly. Ample helpings, and everyone was happy with their choice. A great location too, with a bit of history.

I rang the Singing Pub I got answering machine saying first come first serve as they were not taking booking ,We drove 24 miles from Gortahork to Singing pub .We had to queue outside ,the waitress came out and asked have any of you book...some replied yes and was brought on in . We had to wait about 30 minutes until we got a table ,then waited 15 mins before order was taken . When the food came it was very disappointing , I wouldn’t rate food or service at all .More

Tried calling a few times only to be met by an answer machine stating times and letting you know first come first served. I understood pub did not take bookings but wanted to check wait times before booking a taxi. Decided to book a taxi...even tho had read previous reviews re poor customer service but willing to give the place a chance. Got there to be told wait times are 2 hours for a table. Had to then wait half hour to get a taxi back. Whilst waiting encountered a few family’s leaving not happy as like us making a wasted journey. This place is isolated and a drive from any anywhere. It takes two minutes to update a recoded message. On busy periods this needs to be done. A brief update to say expected wait times when they are extreme and going over let’s say an hour. Better still have a person to answer the phone first step in offering a good level of service. Did not get a drink at the bar whilst waiting for taxi as very long queue. Staff running around over worked trying to do their best.More

Very good food and friendly staff. It's quiet a busy spot so be patient but it's worth the wait. It has a very good outdoor area for kids and a beer garden. Dogs are also welcome from waht I could see in and out of...the pub.More

Service was absolutely brutal. Left sitting for ages waiting to order, food slow, drinks orders forgotten, long delays between courses leading to being unable to order a dessert as the kitchen was closed. It took over 2 hours from sitting down to get starter and...main courses with drinks. The food is very average. Nothing at all to write home about. We have been going to the singing pub for years but I think this will be our last trip. Much better alternatives available.More

Called into this quaint little pub for a pint and spur of the moment decided to order food. Ordered seafood chowder and it arrived lukewarm at best and a very odd colour. Tasted completely bland which is strange for a seafood chowder. The waitress was...very apologetic however the food just didn’t match the lovely charm of this potentially great pub. Call in for a pint but avoid food at all costs.More

What else is there to do on a wet Sunday afternoon in Ireland, but find a warm & welcoming pub with great Guinness and enjoy a hearty cooked lamb Sunday dinner!!!
