We had a family dinner in Hayes and everything was delicious. Several unusual curries on the menu and hake Veracruz, a beautiful dish. I had a duck dish that was really delicious. Imaginative and tasty food using beautiful fresh local produce. We shared a smoked...salmon platter to start and it was huge, and very luscious. There is a lovely wine list as well, including decent, unusual wines but not outrageously expensive. And of course a great pint of Guinness. The service and the welcome in general was really nice. There was a good balance of Covid safely and high standards without ruining an atmosphere.More

We (3 adults/4 children) dined at this seafood restaurant on Monday 23rd August. A number of t got the distinct impression on the phone and on the night that children were not really welcome even though 3 of the 4 ordered full price adult mains....There was no provision/mention of children on the menu and it was unclear if they could have a child's portion of the adult mains. A number of the main courses listed were not available at 7.45 and we found the main waitress impatient and stressed. We waited an hour and a quarter to be served our food and were just about to enquire when it arrived at 9pm. I complained about the delay and the waitress stood back with the plates and asked "well do you want it or not?" and proceeded to give us a lecture on how all the food was prepared freshly and about how busy they were. We were shocked at her outright rudeness. We had no choice but to accept the food as it was 9pm and we had 4 hungry children. My daughter's pasta with prawns was cold and we counted only 4 prawns. The other 3 children had pasta carbonara which also arrived cold. My husband and I had fish pie which at € 19 was overpriced and VERY ordinary. The bill came to €150 which included 3 glasses of wine. Overpriced, and terrible service. I would never dine there again. Go to the restaurant next door, it's much nicer.More

The food is very tasty and there is great variety on the menu. Top of the bill is the superb Glandore fish stew. Setting is magnificent, overlooking scenic Glandore. Very kind and friendly staff. Even supplied Blarney Woolen Mills rugs when it got misty in...the evening. Thanks.More

We visited this restaurant today and from the get go were very impressed. We had no reservation but were quickly seated at a fab table overlooking the community garden and bay. There was sanatiser on every table. The service was excellent and extremely efficient. The...toilets were spotlessly clean and had an individual hand towel for each client Well done to all in HayesMore

Touring around West Cork for the day, we stumbled upon Hayes Bar. We parked up and asked for a table, we were seated immediately by a lovely friendly server. I'm not a fish eater, but there was something there for me, and it was delicious,...my wife had sea food pie and assured me it was absolutely delicious. Two nice lunches and a few drinks on a beautiful day overlooking sunny Glandore. It was paradise. The service was impeccable and the server's were attentive and friendly. I'd highly recommend this place if you are in the area, we definitely will be back, although we were lucky to get a table without booking, my advice would be call ahead and book, you won't be disappointed. Well done to all involved, ye are doing a great job, and thanks for a lovely memory of beautiful Glandore.More

Best seafood stew I ever had. Stunning views. The service was great considering how busy they were. We've been here 4 or 5 times now. Never disappoints .

As good as dining outside, on the side of the road with stunning views can get. We made a booking ahead of time because of the limited number of tables available due to current restrictions. Staff young and friendly and our order for drinks was...taken straight away and then our dinner order was taken when they brought our drinks. Service was prompt. Seafood stew was fantastic and a large portion. Seafood platter big enough for two to share. Brown bread delicious and banoffi was generous and delicious. As the night went on it became a little difficult to catch the wait staffs eye for service but to be fair they had put in a long shift dodging cars and bringing out blankets, food and drinks at that stage. Menu limited but tasty and a 70s throw back of beef stroganoff as the special the night we were there. Busy spot, as its one of two spots serving food atm in the area and obviously a popular local establishment outside of tourist season. Worth a visit.More
