Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hayes' Bar recently won an award for the best gastropub in Munster and it is easy to see why. Food quality rivals any good bistro in Paris. I enjoyed the fish stew with homemade bread - the stew is silky rich and packed with good...size chunks of local very fresh fish. We loved the panna cotta with fresh local raspberries - best panna cotta I've ever had. The fish pie with cheddar mash crust was served piping hot accompanied by a side salad with house-made dressing. The menu also has meat or vegetarian options. We sat outside to enjoy the view of Glandore Harbour one night, and in the cozy elegant indoor space the other night. Service is friendly, attentive, and unpretentious. Highly recommend!More

The cutest little spot for lunch with stunning views and tasty food! We ordered open sandwiches as well as bruschetta which was super yummy! Reasonable price for food and absolutely worth a visit!

Booked table for special occasion. Arrived on time and ordered within minutes. One hour into our four course meal another group came in with a booking and a waitress pointed at our table and said the table was theirs when we are finished. We were...still on our main courses and did not appreciate this intrusion. We were about to order our second bottle of wine but changed our minds when the same waitress came to clear our main course plates before we were all finished. Against our better judgment we ordered desserts and coffees. As each dessert plate was finished, the waitress took it. I was speechless but did not want to make a scene in front of our guests. One hour and twenty five minutes after we ordered and consumed starters, mains, desserts, coffees and a bottle of wine, we were sitting at a table already cleared off for the people waiting to sit there. A big element of eating out is relaxing, enjoying the atmosphere, and talking with each other. If I simply wanted food I could have ordered a take away. What a pity. I like to support Irish restaurants. I invite guests from different parts of the world to visit here for the cuisine and I expect comparable service. This review is pushed up to three stars because my meal was among the best I have eaten. How rotten of this waitress to spoil our evening, and the reputation of Hayes restaurant in Glandore. We did not leave a tip. Do better.More

3 of us Arrived to a curt welcome.. seemed not to care if we stayed or left. Ordered our starters and main course. After a wait the waiter arrived with two mains …. Confusion but turned out our starters had been forgotten. We ate our...mains paid and left. Not much in the way of regret or apology. To sum up food very good without being spectacular… service overall very poor although individual staff were fine. Wont be going back.More

Had the chowder and it was pure water. So little fish, in fact a few muscles and just scraps of fish. Potatoes and carrots and some celery. No flavour. In fact I asked the lovely waiter, Nathan if I could have a straw to finish...it....that is how watery it was. The rose wine was very sweet but that was my choice, just know it if you are thinking of ordering a glass of rose...was barely drinkable with a few lumps of ice!! But if you like a sweet, sticky rose - go for it all day. Waiter was a lovely young man and most apologetic.More

Lunch X 2 and what a lunch Starters of Prawn cocktail and bruschetta followed via 2 x curried prawn dish All all washed down via a delicious cool white wine Deserts comprised of Hot Apple Cinnamon & calvados cake with Vanilla ice on the side...The whole meal was a combustion of flavours vibrant on your pallet you would return to on a regular occasion Front of house were tentative and competent in there service showing clearly a good management structure is in place And to complete the most important item all of the above excellent presented and delivered items to the table at reasonable and not tourist hyped prices Certainly a place not to miss and worth the deviation from the general route to visit Haynes of GlandorMore

A perfect spot for lunch. The view is sensational & the food the best we have had in Ireland so far. The tastiest chowder & great open sandwiches with the best glass of Murphys! It's very popular but worth the trip & wait

What an amazing place! We stayed for two nights in Glandore. Went here for the first night and had to go back again. Owners were so welcoming and food was delicious. Mussels were freshly caught after our request! Morrocan lamb was beautiful. Seafood pasta also...very very good. Great atmosphere. And hand sanitizer from the shop next door smells delicious! Altogether a great experience. Made our reunion even more special .More

So good we went two nights in a row! Can’t fault the menu, delicious and so happy to accommodate all requests. Highlight the Braised Rabbit served Basque style, exquisite and so flavourful. Would highly recommend.

This place! I felt like I was somewhere in france. Alfresco lunch looking out over the water eating prawns and salmon with a cold crisp glass of white wine, I mean it was perfect! Highly recommend and the owner is sound!

We visited Hayes Bar just over a week ago on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. When I inquired about a table the owner ( I'm presuming) was extremely rude but we waited to be seated anyway. Poor choices for our 2 children who just ate bread....4 adult meals were good, after a long wait. Second round of drinks were not all received. When my husband left to use the toilet his meal was hurriedly and rudely removed by the owner who was again unnecessarily rude. Overall poor experience overshadowed good ( not amazing) food.More

A superb place to stop for lunch or dinner if you are in West Cork. The scenery is amazing but most importantly the food is sensational. The options on the menu make it a difficult choice (quality problem) and the flavours on the dishes we...had were unbelievable. We were there on a very busy day and the staff were excellent with everyone.More

I have visited many times and was delighted to get a table today while we had beautiful weather and also as restaurant being extremely busy. They had a lot of tables reserved but took a table from inside to seat us with a view of...bay. Food was delicious and you really can't get a more beautiful scenic view of bay while sitting having lunch outside. Toilets are out back of bar/restaurant. They are outside but immaculate with lovely toiletries and individual facecloth/towels to dry hands. Menu is mostly fish based which suited us but its West Cork and that's where you get the finest flavours. Highly recommend and as I said I have revisited a few times as food and atmosphere is always so good.More

We came across this glorious spot as we drove from Kinsale to Skibereen. What a treat. Excellent service. Food was exceptionally good. We had a sharing plate of gravlax. Weather was glorious and we sat looking over the bay. Would be happy to return and...enjoy the interior on a winters day.More
