So good we went two nights in a row! Can’t fault the menu, delicious and so happy to accommodate all requests. Highlight the Braised Rabbit served Basque style, exquisite and so flavourful. Would highly recommend.

This place! I felt like I was somewhere in france. Alfresco lunch looking out over the water eating prawns and salmon with a cold crisp glass of white wine, I mean it was perfect! Highly recommend and the owner is sound!
We visited Hayes Bar just over a week ago on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. When I inquired about a table the owner ( I'm presuming) was extremely rude but we waited to be seated anyway. Poor choices for our 2 children who just ate bread....4 adult meals were good, after a long wait. Second round of drinks were not all received. When my husband left to use the toilet his meal was hurriedly and rudely removed by the owner who was again unnecessarily rude. Overall poor experience overshadowed good ( not amazing) food.More
A superb place to stop for lunch or dinner if you are in West Cork. The scenery is amazing but most importantly the food is sensational. The options on the menu make it a difficult choice (quality problem) and the flavours on the dishes we...had were unbelievable. We were there on a very busy day and the staff were excellent with everyone.More
Beautiful lunch at Hayes today, highly recommend it. Lovely menu to choose from and service was excellent. Staff are lovely and friendly.
I have visited many times and was delighted to get a table today while we had beautiful weather and also as restaurant being extremely busy. They had a lot of tables reserved but took a table from inside to seat us with a view of...bay. Food was delicious and you really can't get a more beautiful scenic view of bay while sitting having lunch outside. Toilets are out back of bar/restaurant. They are outside but immaculate with lovely toiletries and individual facecloth/towels to dry hands. Menu is mostly fish based which suited us but its West Cork and that's where you get the finest flavours. Highly recommend and as I said I have revisited a few times as food and atmosphere is always so good.More
We came across this glorious spot as we drove from Kinsale to Skibereen. What a treat. Excellent service. Food was exceptionally good. We had a sharing plate of gravlax. Weather was glorious and we sat looking over the bay. Would be happy to return and...enjoy the interior on a winters day.More
We had a very pleasant lunch at Hayes Restaurant in Glandore. We had chowder and seafood pasta. Both were very good. Service was excellent. The young waiter was attentive and efficient. We will be back. We had tried another restaurant nearby but - oh dear...- the staff...More
If this is the post-pandemic face of Irish rural tourism in a (granted) beautiful West Cork location, a lot is left to be desired…… it would appear to trade on location and the yes, spectacular views alone. Functional food, pricey enough drink, service that wasn’t...particularly friendly and the whole, grungy waiters in trackie bottoms and dirty gear more suited to a workout in the gym really doesn’t do the spectacularly beautiful location justice.More
Visited for lunch as a family over Easter weekend. Chaotic and disorganized to say the least - one felt the proprietors were not in control. They were even quite rude to some customers and to their staff. Left as quickly as possible after a lunch...that was just barely average . Not an enjoyable experienceMore
We were having a couple of days break in nearby Inchydoney during St.Patricks week. On our 2nd day we went off for a drive with no particular place in mind but eded up in Glandore. It was around lunchtime so we saw some people sitting outside...Hayes Bar and restaurant as It was a beautiful day.The owners were extremely friendly and it was their first day back open after lockdowns etc. We both had open sandwiches, incredibly fresh ingredients and so tasty. The following day (St.P day ) we were to drive back home so we booked a table for 2 pm as a treat , seeing as were so impressed the previous day ! It was even better . I had the most delicious seafood pasta, the fish tasted like it just leapt off the trawler, my wife had the most amazing Moroccan lamb tagine . All reasonably priced considering the high standard of food . We couldn't recommend this gem highly enough ...A must for any foodies !!!More
We had a family dinner in Hayes and everything was delicious. Several unusual curries on the menu and hake Veracruz, a beautiful dish. I had a duck dish that was really delicious. Imaginative and tasty food using beautiful fresh local produce. We shared a smoked...salmon platter to start and it was huge, and very luscious. There is a lovely wine list as well, including decent, unusual wines but not outrageously expensive. And of course a great pint of Guinness. The service and the welcome in general was really nice. There was a good balance of Covid safely and high standards without ruining an atmosphere.More
We (3 adults/4 children) dined at this seafood restaurant on Monday 23rd August. A number of t got the distinct impression on the phone and on the night that children were not really welcome even though 3 of the 4 ordered full price adult mains....There was no provision/mention of children on the menu and it was unclear if they could have a child's portion of the adult mains. A number of the main courses listed were not available at 7.45 and we found the main waitress impatient and stressed. We waited an hour and a quarter to be served our food and were just about to enquire when it arrived at 9pm. I complained about the delay and the waitress stood back with the plates and asked "well do you want it or not?" and proceeded to give us a lecture on how all the food was prepared freshly and about how busy they were. We were shocked at her outright rudeness. We had no choice but to accept the food as it was 9pm and we had 4 hungry children. My daughter's pasta with prawns was cold and we counted only 4 prawns. The other 3 children had pasta carbonara which also arrived cold. My husband and I had fish pie which at € 19 was overpriced and VERY ordinary. The bill came to €150 which included 3 glasses of wine. Overpriced, and terrible service. I would never dine there again. Go to the restaurant next door, it's much nicer.More
The food is very tasty and there is great variety on the menu. Top of the bill is the superb Glandore fish stew. Setting is magnificent, overlooking scenic Glandore. Very kind and friendly staff. Even supplied Blarney Woolen Mills rugs when it got misty in...the evening. Thanks.More
Very busy but found a spot for me as I was on my own. Lovely staff! Had the curry special, was perfect! Loads of flavour and just the right amount of spice
