Went here mid week to take my parents out for a meal. The pub has the old rustic feel with flag stone floors, exposed beams and heavy wooden tables. The only thing missing was that the open fire wasn't lit, there again there wasn't many people in here. Although the food took some time to arrive the staff were always... More

Never judge a book by its cover!! This place is a little drive out from the main tourist stays but well worth the trip especially if you have a dog with you. The pub is completely dog friendly - our Spaniel had a bowl of water brought to him before we had even got to the bar, and the staff... More

We both really enjoyed our generous homemade steak pies with real chips in this old style pub. The staff were friendly and a there was a cosy log fire burning. It is off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Food available 12-8 on Fridays & Saturdays but 12-4 other days.

Dropped in on the off chance on a bust Saturday lunch time – all but one table reserved – so that showed some positive signs that the place was popular. We waited ages for our meal to be served to the table – my wife had the home-made Chicken & Leek Pie and Chips – she said it was the... More

Just had the worst home made curry I have ever tasted. Ordered desert, waited 25 mins it didn't turn up so we left. I don't understand the positive reviews. Simply awful.

Good, honest, homemade pub food at a decent price. We had fish and chips, hunters chicken, nutella cheesecake & warm waffles and ice cream + drinks. All tastey. Mains portion sizes were perfect; quite big, as pub food should be! Desserts were also large! In hindsight we probably should have ordered one between us (the slab of cheesecake was big!).... More

The pub is cosy and the staff friendly. We had been recommended to go here but were very disappointed with our food. Cheap sausages, thick cold gravy, soggy vinegar chips and a burned Glamorgan sausage.

A few friends and I went for a meal here and it was a lovely evening. There's a real cosy country pub atmosphere and the food was homemade and terrific. We had the curry and gave it top marks. The dessert was phenomenal. Quite possibly the biggest piece of homemade cheesecake I've ever encountered and also, the only one to... More
