Really tasty food but waited an hour for food to come out in dribs and drabs and then 40 minutes for desserts. Not only did they not have enough desserts in despite them being featured on the menu (we had to cancel one of ours) but ice cream came out practically melted on the desserts which obviously meant it was... We ended up visiting as we were staying locally and were struggling to find somewhere with tables available. It was quite quiet but the menu sounded good. They had a vegan menu which was surprising to see and sounded appetising. I had the Scouse which was very tasty and tender. Most of the dishes were home comforts. The food is... More

We have been there before recently and found excellent service but all that changed. We booked well in advance for 20 of us to have lunch and arrived at the agreed time just after noon when the place was empty. Unlike previous occasions we were put on separate tables so did not sit together. The food was very slow to... More

We have lived in walking distance of the Farmers Arms for years but never eaten there because of very mixed reviews. However we were asked to book it for a family birthday meal. Big mistake. The dining area was tired and dingy. The place wasn't busy but we waited well over an hour from ordering our meals to getting them.... More

How long is it acceptable to wait for your food?? Took 15 minutes for someone to take out order and over AN HOUR for food to arrive. Not particularly busy and we certainly weren't told there would be a delay. Food was ok. Just. After the food was served, no one came to ask how it was and the two... More

Went for a meal last Saturday. Staff attentive, and table service for drinks which was helpful. However food was a bit disappointing, rather bland, and not very appetising-looking, some meals looked like what your Mother used to serve up in the 1970's! One of our group had a burger, which was on an empty bun, no relish, no salad, she... More

After a lovely walk with the dog we stopped in at the farmers arms for a drink and we're pleased to find out the dog was allowed inside! Roaring fire really warmed us up! Staff were polite and helpful. Food was a little slow but well worth the wait! We will be visiting soon!

We had a table of 11 but no delays with the food, all brought at the same time. Table cleared quickly. Well looked after and served at the table instead of having to go to the bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. We even changed a few starters we'd pre-ordered but this wasn't a problem. Food good and excellent value... More
