A plesant pub in a pretty situation with friendly staff. However, there was only one vegetarian option on the menu, a simple and over-priced pasta dish. The staff tried to convince us that this is due to 'seasonal factors'! It's the first time we've ever heard that excuse!

Went here for a birthday meal. My wife and I had heard great things about this place and we're not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. They were very attentive throughout the meal. The food was excellent and they event created a slightly different dish for my wife who is gluten free. All in... More

My wife ate half of a deep fried brie and noticed it was cold in the middle. We booked a table and they hadnt wrote it in. So we were put out the way on our own. When we got home my wife complained of a bad stomach and she was up all night vomiting and diarrhoea and as she... More

After a pleasant stroll away from the traffic, we joined this packed pub and sat in the extension with its pleasant and bright very family atmosphere. Windows were steamed up so could not see out to the beer garden but I expect wonderful vista in summer sunshine with outdoor fun for the kids. Ordered a Sunday beef roast at £13.50.... More

We had lunch here in late January with two friends and our two dogs. We had a very friendly welcome and the staff went out of their way to find us a place and make room for the dogs. The menu had plenty of choice, although we were told it was reduced slightly in Jan. I chose steak pie, which... More

This venue is well hidden. There is ample free parking at the side of the establishment. The staff are lovely & the food feels as if its home cooked as apposed to mass catering & rather delicious if I have to say so myself. We had steak & ale pie and scampi & salad. The chips were slightly dry &... More

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Good choice on the menu with reasonable prices. Good choice of quality beers. We both had the game pie which was excellent. Good chunks of the various meats, perfectly cooked, and a generous portion too. Served with new pototoes and a large portion of properly cooked mixed veg. Nothing not to like really, recommended.

Booked a Sunday lunch for 10 family members, greeted by a charming waitress who showed us our table in the serene garden room. Prompt serving of our sumptuous food simultaneously with hungry mouths to feed. Delicious! Very relaxed atmosphere be sure to visit again soon.
