We have dined here before but booking a table over recent months etc has been a nightmare. However, this time we managed to get in and took the day off work to drive here from the Midlands.
There is a car park near the entrance but if this is full, you have to park on the grass at the back, which can leave those with expensive shoes feeling a little tetchy. However, after parking your car you walk along to reception where you are booked in and staff take your coats. You are then taken to a reception area and offered aperitifs through an iPad where you are also given menus to saunter through. I can't think which menu we opted for but we had the three course lunch with additional drinks
We sat with our drinks then staff came to take our order. Were were later taken to our table to await the food. The food came over very timely and beautifully cooked. The place was a little empty when we arrived but because dining is staged the placed later filled up. As always the food was exquisite and the staff were very helpful. Different breads were served while we waited for food and when our glasses were empty there were always staff on hand to fill them up. We are both not drinkers so we did not take anything from the wine list, which is extensive and can be quite expensive because he has a large cellar with wines from around the world at costs for every pocket.
Our lunches consisted of fresh salmon and duck and other delicious flavours and were served not in a rush but probably within about 15/20 minutes of the last course being taken away. When my wife had scallop for starters, it was brought to the table fresh and prepared in front of us. There was a supplement for this but who cared. Dining here is not for the rushed and everything is freshly prepared and cooked. When I had a souffle for dessert, which was wonderful, staff needed twenty minutes to cook it fresh. As always, every thing was magnificent. Staff were helpful and friendly, the dining room is at the back of the house in a large conservatory and light and airy and nothing was rushed.
The bill at the end was just over £500 which included vat at 20% and a gratuity at 12.5%. You can refuse to give this, but when food is served at this level by staff who really care about service and presentation, money is nothing. Some people might gripe at a bottle of Coke for nearly £6 but this is exceptional cuisine served in a beautiful venue by staff who really care about the food and the customer they serve.
We've been to other expensive restaurants in the UK from London to the Isle of Skye but there is nothing to beat this for a good day out. The best tip I can offer is take your cheque book, enjoy yourself and make the most of it. You will be handsomely rewarded and most of all "really looked after". We were.
As Arnie says in the Teminator "I'll be back"

We booked for a special birthday lunch, what a beautiful venue, we were in awe from the moment we arrived outside.
We enjoyed a pre-meal gin and tonic with some nuts and olives in the lounge, whilst we perused the menu and wine list, opting for the 6 course tasting menu and a bottle of pinot noir.
We were then taken through to the conservatory and given a lovely table looking out to the dining room and gardens, with our wine ready and waiting on the table. There was also a birthday card and a small copy of the tasting menu to allow us to know what was coming up next and to be taken home as a little memento.
Rather than describe every course, we will just say it was incredible from start to finish. The food was delicious, we left completely full and having eaten innovative but not pretentious dishes.
We followed the meal by walking in the gardens which were truly stunning.
Despite the very toppy price (£840) - 2 six course tasting menu, 2 bottles of wine and some cocktails. It truly was worth it.
Our best ever dining experience, you will not regret it.
We have not had dinner here but really felt going for lunch was special as it allowed us to tour the gardens in the daylight (see pics).
Enjoy!

On the way to our holiday accommodation in Appleton we passed Le Manoir. We know Raymond Blanc from TV, but we didn't know that we had our accommodation so close to Le Manoir. So one day we made a reservation for a table because we didn't want to miss this opportunity for a 2-star experience. Le Manoir is a large complex which also includes a hotel and banquet rooms and has a beautiful ambiance. At the general reception we were transferred to Front of House consisting of about 6 ladies and gentlemen. In our case, one of the ladies took us to the lounge where we got an appetizer, in my case an English sparkling wine, some roasted almonds and olives and in the meantime we could study the menu. After some time and making our choice, we were taken to our table and the party could begin. The dishes were beautifully prepared (see the photos) and tasted delicious. The accompanying wines were a very good choice. I have introduced something new in Great Britain: drivers glasses (half glasses). People didn't know it, but they understood it and agreed after my explanation. However, given the drinking culture, the British public will not easily go along with this, according to the sommelier.
Afterwards, the bill was a bit of a shock, even though I was prepared for it. For that money we can eat twice at our beloved 1 Michelin star restaurant in the Netherlands.
Afterwards, my wife and I re-evaluated what the big difference could be. The food was not of a much better standard than at other 1 star restaurants where we have eaten. It's also not really in the service, 1 waitress for 11 guests with little time for a more detailed explanation or a chat. We could only conclude that it was more about the extensive staff around it, it was all a bit slicker in terms of decoration and treatment, perhaps a little more attention to detail, and the location.

Only our 2nd time at a Michelin restaurant. Previously Gavroche was my favourite but this surpassed it I feel. We are not wealthy so we remortgaged the house but what a great experience for our 20th anniversary. We chose to go with the 7 course plant based taster menu. The staff were friendly and the sommelier in the dining room was very interesting to talk to. The presentation of the food was beautiful and the taste sublime. I didn’t care for the beetroot course as very vinegary, but everything else I loved. My negative was the long wait for a drink on arrival in the drawing room and when asked if we’d like cheese pre dessert not being told it was extra. A shared platter of slivers of cheese for £39 when the cheeses were not unusual as we’d had them all before. That left a sour taste figuratively speaking. All in all though a successful evening which we enjoyed.

A warm, damp & drizzly British Summer’s day certainly heightened the need to seek solace…and Le Manoir delivered. Across the board too. The gold medal goes to the ‘service’ and here, there are multiple recipients. The Welcome from the 2 females on Reception was hearty, sincere, authentic and thankfully, a million miles from anything formulaic. We felt ‘recognised’. The lounge guys & girls serving aperitifs had the winning 3 Ps - professionalism, purpose & personality ; we noted and we loved that they engaged in conversation with a nice blend of style, respect & banter. And in the dining room, Ollie & Daniel particularly, added so much to our experience. Both ‘got on with it’, but critically - cleverly - both had the awareness & emotional intelligence to ‘detect’, listen, respond & involve themselves with us. There was a refreshing dearth of stuffiness. Both too extolled the virtues of working at Aux Quat’Saisons and we were struck by a consistent testimony that centred around teamwork, friendship and accountability amongst the workforce. Professionally, I am impressed by an exacting recruitment process which produces undoubted & memorable excellence. And so to the food… Of course and as expected, it was terrific. No surprises per se, save for dish after dish firing off its own taste Extravaganza. Serious flavour equating to amazed & delighted taste buds ! It’s hard to defend £300 a head in the context of a cost of living crisis and the reality of hardship for so many. We have a generous, thoughtful & loving family who wanted to create for us, special birthday memories. They did. We have ! From parking up through to driving away, we had the loveliest of experiences. The gardens, the hospitality, the environment - everything works and everything hit the spot !

The main problem with our lunch meal was that there were six courses but only four wines in the set wine flight to go with the set meal.
Consequently when the arrival of the first course was delayed by 45 minutes we had largely drunk the first wine before the first course arrived, when the first wine was supposed to last for both the first two courses. There is a lack of coordination between the food being served and the wine flight being served.
This is not what we are used to as regulars for fine dining at Michedlin star restaurants. It also seems mean not to provide a wine for each course when £99 is being charged for the lowest cost matching wine flight of four glasses (and £850 highest cost wine flight for four glasses).
The Manoir could help organise their own food and wine coordination by having a separate wine to match each of the six courses whilst also appearing a little less mean, given the prices. Scrouge is alive and well living at Little Milton.
There were other signs that things were going downhill since we first ate at the Manoir over 15 years ago. It seems that the focus used to be on the restaurant food and service whilst the focus is now on being a hotel. A couple of examples were having to wait some time for a requested second coffee, which only arrived after being chsed up; and when leaving having to collect our own coats whilst arriving hotel guests were getting full attention.
The menu was disappointing compared with last year. It seems more basic and whilst perfectly well cooked, rather boring and unimaginative for a Michelin star restaurant. I think the head chef has changed since last year. I preferred the food last month at the Brasserie Blanc in Oxford - where they live or die based on the restaurant food and service.
Take my tip, when choosing fine dining, pick a restaurant rather than a hotel. Sleep at the hotel but eat out at a dedicated restaurant.

We have waited rather a long time to be able to visit this restaurant as a family of 3, for various " work" reasons/ covid etc. and finally made it 20 th June. We had heard from a friend who has been a couple of times that the gardens were not to be missed so were really pleased that it was a glorious day, given the recent wet weather. Slightly confusing entry? , wasnt sure if it was the first or second entrance, but opted for the first . Booked into the restaurant but again, slightly confusing , as we werent actually sitting down at the booked time. Emphasis on " aperitifs" before lunch/ whilst perusing the menus. Anyway, we settled on our menus (Lunch Tasting Menu) after explanation from the staff, whilst seated outdoors on the terrace. We decided that we wanted to eat sooner rather than later so were shown to our lovely table. Very beautiful setting in the Orangery. Lots of staff carrying out their allocated tasks. Wine presented and opened . Assorted bread rolls very moreish!! Tasting lunch menu was superb. Presentation of dishes like works of art! and explanations of dishes given ( waiting staff- maybe speak slightly slower and clearer so that everyone can understand the menu contents?) Part way through our meal, we had a slight issue. This was dealt with discreetly, and professionally by the MaitreD. And in no way did it detract from our enjoyment of the remainder of our meal. ( Thankyou for your very kind gesture). The day was an experience not to be forgotten but hopefully to be repeated at some point in future.

My wife brought me here for my birthday. She had paid for the basic room £1040. On arrival with it being my birthday they’d upgraded us to a suite. Lavande. It was a large and beautiful suite. With fresh fruit and a lemon cake placed on a table by the window. We were given a glass of champagne on arrival.
For our evening meal we chose the seven course taster menu this was £245 per head. We also chose the traditional wine inclusive. £135 per person. We both enjoyed it immensely, the staff are so helpful and friendly and have so much time for you. They are never rushed. There are some supplements for other choices on the menu that do seem a bit steep. If you decided to have a cheese course that was an extra £36 per person. This place is very expensive but the staff and service is second to none. The food is exceptional. The evening including drinks cost us just over £1000. You could spend considerably less if you had the a la carte menu and wine by the glass, which was at a very reasonable rate. I will never forget this experience and hope one day to return. I better start saving up.
PS we had a garden tour on the day we left, this is complementary and shouldn’t be missed, it was brilliantly presented and very informative.

So lots to love about the place of course. the gardens are spectacular, and the walk around them was probably my highlight. The staff are all perfectly trained and hushed and respectful. The wine we chose was phenomenal. But for the astronomic price for a set festive lunch, the food was fine, but compared to all my previous "fine dining" experiences, there wasn't a single dish that I will particularly remember. It all felt like just a good gastro pub. I think I counted that during the time we were there we were attended to by 14 different people. (not including the chefs). Now I am all for driving up employment, but just a thought that perhaps you could lower the price a bit and not have quite so many waiters??

The moment we pulled up into the stunning grounds we felt special. The service from check inn was so friendly and professional , and the choice of English sparkling was the best I’ve ever tasted. We sat in the beautiful gardens enjoying our sparkling wine and the work that goes into the gardens is incredible. We got checked into our dog friendly room, and wow amazing. The size was huge, and had everything and more. We had dog beds, dog bowls, treats, think the dogs were on their hols.
A freshly made lemon cake was waiting for us to eat and fresh fruit from the gardens. All so tasty. They even give you boxes to take away.
We did the cellar tour, which was really interesting and the glass of champagne you get was defo worth it.
Evening Dinner 7 course taster was just divine. The service here is the best I’ve ever had, and everything was just perfect.
The breakfast also was lovely, and again impeccable service.
Yes it is expensive to stay and eat here, but you can see why. The work that goes into the gardens, grounds and the service you get, is worth every penny. This is a place to come for a very special treat and you’ll be made to feel very special too.
I so recommend this place

We recently visited Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons and as expected it was a truly superb experience in terms of a wonderful setting, food and service.
Fast forward to more recent days when I required some post-visit advice on how to prepare a meal as part of a family gathering at home.
I can advise that the Management Team and in particular the Culinary Operations Manager were extremely generous in offering their guidance on how my meal could be prepared and how to bring those extra special touches to take my cooking to new levels. I am extremely grateful to Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons for this assistance and look to return soon!!!

We visited here as part of my Dad’s bucket list, knowing that this year would be his last, and one of the places he always wanted to go to. Despite being frail and finding it difficult to eat, the staff treated us exceptionally well, and didn’t care that we were still sat eating at midnight despite having started at 6pm. We stayed for two days, had an afternoon tea and bar snacks on day one, a garden tour and full tasting and wine flight on day two, and it will be something we will remember forever. Dad passed away a few month later, but this was certainly the best experience we could have hoped for. It’s not at all pretentious and feels like home. An absolute dream of a place and one we would highly recommend.

Tres Bien! Beautiful location, gardens, Vegetables plots & Orchards. A truly wonderful experience from start to finish. Every member of staff was so attentive yet not over bearing. It is very posh but so chilled and relaxed. You could easily stay all afternoon after a divine lunch and never felt rushed.
