Booked a double room 2 weeks prior to visit and travelled 4 hours to get there for an overnight stay. I will start with the plus points... The evening staff were friendly, the food was good and the bedroom was clean with a comfortable bed....Good quality towels in the bathroom and shower products available. Tea, coffee and biscuits very welcome. The minus points.... There was no information of where to check in but went through to the bar and was able to check in and were given the key to room 6. The room was at the back, no view and the bed was in front of the window. The room was very small, only wide enough for the bed and one bedside table. The bathroom requires some maintenance as the bathroom door does not close and the shower door does not close either. Despite booking a double for 2 people we were only given 1 towel so had to ask twice for a second towel. As we had booked dinner on arrival we went at the correct time and despite there being a free table with a view we were told we couldn't sit there as already booked and had to sit in the bar area. At breakfast which finished at 8.30am, again we booked a time, and on arrival told the only table available was in the bar area. This was incorrect information as 2 people who arrived 15 minutes late were immediately taken to their reserved table with a view. It was then 25 mins before we were served our prebooked breakfast. I appreciate that there was only one member of staff serving but none of the tables had been cleaned after use and the carpet still had debris from the previous night meal service, i.e. Potato and broccoli. This is concerning due to new hygiene standards for Covid 19. When another member of staff arrived about 8.45am I was very shocked by her behaviour. I have emailed the Tuckers Inn regarding this incident. So sad this was not the outcome we expected.More

Ordered 3 sweets in lockdown 1 strawberry sundae 1 chocolate sundae 1 sticky toffee pudding The segments tasted frozen in the middle of the sundae Definitely won’t recommend getting that And the sticky toffee pudding wouldn’t feed a child of 10 years not recommended Honest...opinion Not worth the money 💰More

Went here because had been several times before and the service and food was good. Boy, what a change, out of 5 meals ordered only 1 was eaten. When we complained we were taken aback to be told that there was nothing wrong with the...food, must be us! Still charged us nearly £100, needless to say we won't be back and urge anyone who is thinking about going, not to.More

Just checked out after a 5 week stay. I can only praise the Tuckers Inn as all of the staff went out there way to make my stay like living at home. A big thank you to Karen and Kayleigh who know how to treat,...look after their guests whether staying or locals popping in for tea. The meals were excellent, faultless and the service, well I can only say matched. I will defo stay there again thanks to all the staff, especially Kayleigh who is a perfectionist.More

We went here for our daughters 18th Birthday, there were 18 of us to contend with, the 2 girls that were working that night couldn’t have been more helpful if they tried. The food was top notch as it is always. The girls were very...accommodating and made a great fuss of our daughter. The birthday cake was brought out accompanied by the whole restaurant singing “Happy Birthday” A brilliant night with excellent food, would highly recommend this restaurant. 😊More

The waitress was rude and abrupt. Didn’t have a smile on her face the whole time. She didn’t take our order correctly and gave us a drink without alcohol in it when we specifically asked for an alcoholic drink and when we sent it back...we were made out we were lying. We weren’t once asked how our meal was. I am highly disgusted in the poor service and disgusting attitude the staff have. What happened to service with a smile and the customer is always right. Kayleigh our waitress needs to learn how to have good customer service and how to be polite to paying customers. I would not recommend this restaurant. After we’d finished our meal we weren’t asked “if we’d like to see the dessert menu” we were instead asked “do you want anything else.” That’s not how you speak to customers. There’s better ways to say things to people especially when they’re paying for what the expect to me a good service.More

They don't appear on the menu but staff were very willing to alter dishes to suit gluten-free requirements
