Very nice pub grub and dog friendly outside. Stopped in a few times whilst on holiday in Balintore... nice food and selection of beer and you can order take away.

fabulous food good size portions. Bit out of the way so you will need to drive to get there. I was disappointed with the ambience, very bare and feeling of emptiness, i understand things are much different due to Covid, however this restaurant would benefit...from the interior having a warmer welcome, maybe plants lamps etc. It was dark when we left at 9pm and both myself and relative had a,near miss while walking to the car, just missing bollard and a chain attached. Outside lighting and a risk assessment highly recommend. Would returm if the above problems are addressed.More
Arrived at Shandwick and allocated a table restaurant tables very spread out and lacked atmosphere very cold n entrance carpet in need of replacement.Restaurant is split into 3 rooms so quite disjointed didn’t help atmosphere.Waitresses pleasant n served quite quickly. Food was good n plentiful...but didn’t feel like staying any longer for another drink even with restrictions think restaurant could have made more of an effort to make it a more enjoyable experience hence the 3 starsMore
Even on a Wednesday night, this lovely Inn was busy, both locals and tourists. There was a huge menu, something for everyone, my Chicken enchiladas were the best I have ever had. My husband had the chicken and leek pie, it came with veg and...potatoes. Delicious too ! The portions were huge , maybe a little too big as we had no room for the sweets ! The staff were friendly and helpful, all social distancing was adhered to well. We have passed this place every time we drove the A9 , but we will be stopping every time now ! Well done Shandwick Inn !More
Went with friends, food was good enough plenty space in and around the tables. Service time really let’s it down.
Previously visited a couple of times in Oct 2019 and looked forward to returning again during our visit August 2020, was not disappointed! This is a lovely rssaurant just off the A9 and deserves a stop for lunch or tea. Food is great, large portions...and an extensive menu. Look forward to our next visit.More
We had a great meal here. Social distancing was obeyed which was reassuring, the food we excellent, but we couldn't finish the meals there was too much!
We are travelling around Scotland and caught up with friends in their favourite restaurant. Despite these weird times they coped really well, varied menu. We chose our starters the Shandwick mushrooms which were a meal in themselves followed by the Venison casserole, so tasty. My...partner had the prawns and the Sizzling duck, his words “superb”. The staff were friendly and and our second waitress gave us the time to chat briefly which was a breath of fresh air. Lovely evening. Thank you 😋More
Great meal as usual . Massive portions. Went to celebrate our son's birthday(43). A waitress was putting candles on a cake at the bar beside us. We had a bit of banter with her about the cake and birthdays. All good fun. When my son...got his sticky toffee pudding they had put a candle in it and came in singing happy birthday. My son was delighted. Well done ladies.More
A nice restaurant with a cheery atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly. There was a varied menu with prices on par with other local eateries and most importantly our party of four enjoyed our meal. My only criticism is the car par is not particularly...well lit and there were several large potholes which you had to be careful to avoid. It is well worth a visit to the Shandwick InnMore
