Quiet but welcoming . Good food, all home cooked and fresh...no packet frozen veg. Presentation nice with little extras that make a 'pub' meal much more. We come to this area regularly and will definitely come again.

Good food and drink at reasonable prices. Both the staff and the locals were friendly and welcoming to both humans and dogs. We will not hesitate to return next time we are in the area.

We enjoyed a lovely roast beef dinner here with fresh vegetables and tender juicy beef. The pub is cosy and has a welcoming atmosphere, the staff and locals are friendly and pleasant. We will definitely look forward to visiting again sometime.

We had another visit to the caravan park around the corner and spent most nights warming by the fire in this friendly local pub. A lovely Yorkshire welcome from John and Diane and all of the locals. Great local ales, great grub and hound friendly. Nothing much more to add than I've said in previous reviews, we'll keep going back.

We came to eat at this pub because we were staying at The Herons Pond campsite, which is only a short walk away. We were made very welcome and chose a seat in an alcove by the window, which gave us a lovely view of the village green. The food was good and vegetables and potatoes are served separately. The... Whilst passing through the village I made an unplanned visit to The Bay Horse, I had a drink and ordered a meal off what I must say was a remarkably exciting menu. I ordered a ham, Cheese and leak bake which came with a side salad and dressing, my meal came within 25 minutes and was exceptional, the food was... More

Yesterday I visited the Bay Horse in Crakehall, The atmosphere was very good, Sunday lunch was well received. Friendly locals and a mixture of tourists. A real community feel with a meat draw ,cricket on green, quoits and charity nights. Very good real ale. We understand that the landlord is currently in hospital and the bar was run by locals... Called in for impromptu sunday lunch, four people and three dogs. We were made more than welcome and ordered our drinks and four beef dinners, when the food came the veg was no where near enough for four people and was served separately. The plates with the meat on came with two pieces of beef a Yorkshire pudding with onion... More
