We have been here before on several occasions and I think will be come more regular visitors. The owner is passionate about the place and has good knowledge of wine and catering in general. He runs the place I would like to run a gastropub...but don't have the energy. The staff are always pleasant and attentive. He is normally booked well in advance but I think the Corona Virus has hit here like many others but I would still call in advance to be sure. Food is well cooked, tasty, well presented and a lot is sourced locally.
Visit you won't be disappointed.More
First time here after being recommended by several people. We had a lovely meal celebrating my birthday and the staff were very attentive. We were asked how we wanted our venison and duck cooked, we opted for medium for my son but we were unsure...about the duck so we went with the chef's recommendation, the duck came medium rare and was delicious! The whole meal was fantastic and I would definitely come again.More
Having moved into the area recently, we had been told by people near and far how good this place was.
Well we decided to try out the menu .
Service, Food and the feel of this delightful pub is a credit to the owners.
Thankyou...we will be back soon .More
Friday Lunchtime, 2 humans, 2 dogs, a countryside walk then friendly and helpful staff, lovely food served promptly, I wish I wasn't driving, otherwise I would have explored their impressive wine list. We will return.
This is a splendid pub/restaurant easily accessible and with plenty of parking.
The service was friendly and efficient, without being overbearing. An excellent menu was promptly and beautifully cooked and served. It was thoroughly enjoyed by my guest and me. We both had the salmon...pâté, followed by monk fish for one and king scallops for the other. Superb ice cream was served as dessert. All was done, including drinks, for £75.
Jack attended to us with charm, care and courtesy throughout the visit.More
There are pubs and there are pubs that excel. The Buxhall Crown is the latter. Lovely food at reasonable prices. A really good wine list , and I think their gin and beer selection is not to be sniffed at either. To top it all...excellent personal service and a great ambience. This is our second visit and certainly won’t be our last. I just wish it was a bit nearer!More
A lovely setting with food to match.
A warm welcome followed by excellent service.
Good variety of dishes cooked and presented well
Deserts were also exceptional
For the quality of food the pricing is very competitive
I would certainly eat here again and it will...be one of my favouritesMore
