Second time in this restaurant and second time for lunch. Quiet environment with tables well positioned to prevent any bad feeling to be squeezed or in the crowd. Well balanced menu that pays well attention also to local ingredients. Fish is the preferred choice of the day. After a nice entrée with a ball of creamed codfish, time for appetizer:... More

I have been to Vico Mercati several times and never disappointed. But the true test was this time I took my wife with me on a trip to Italy. We visited and ate in Milan, Venice, and many other cities. So the pressure to live up to my description of this incredible place from my previous trips was on. They... More

the place is a top-end restaurant, excellent food and large wine cellar. The wine can blow the bill easily.

Seven of us came for lunch: 5 opted for the starter/main combo 'business lunch', the other two for a more traditional starter and main on separate plates. It was all fabulous and the 'combo' approach is a novel way of avoiding overeating but not at the expense of having a broad taste experience. The risotto was exquisite, the fish ravioli... More

Vico Mercati was recommended to us as THE place to visit for an evening dinner. Located within Vimercate near the Monestero di San Lorenzo, it is a slice of the real Italian life. Stunning atmosphere, beautiful decor, superb service and the food/wine... divine! Massimo and his wife own/run the restaurant and provide that intimate personal feel which just adds to... More

This is an absolute Gem for a restaurant. It is in a building from the 8th Century, incredible little town, the Chef and his wife are splendid and love what they do. I found that they were exceptional with foreigners, they even had 1 menu in English. The menu changes every 2 months, and never be afraid to ask for... More

Perfect atmosphere and ambiance with former ice house cellar converted into wine cellar and group apertive area. Friendly staff and varied menu ensures I try to make it here at least once while visiting the Italian affiliate nearby! Pan seared St Jacques and parmigano starters are brilliantly prepared and there is always a good variety of mains to complement.
