While the presentation was what one would expect of a restaurant of this caliber (and maybe even better than expected), the food was average, at best. My partner also had a shotgun “shot” (metallic ball) in his duck meat during one of his courses and...a hair on his plate during another course. While I understand that the duck may have been wild, I have had wild-animal meat many times and have never had a shotgun shell in my food (and the diner should be warned of the possibility of chewing such an object). Overall, while the venue was pretty and the service was good, the food was average (for the price). I wouldn’t go out of my way to go to this establishment.More

It was windy so we could only take the aperitif outside. Dinner was inside and all courses were great. From amuses, over starters, until dessert and chocolats served with the coffee (chocolate walnuts you could not distinguish from real), it was all delicious and surprising....Only issue was the service, that did not match the quality of the food.More

Perfect diner at la Cicada. The terrasse is beautiful, staff so nice and the food was incredible. I don’t know what was the best between the carpaccio of gambas, the veal or the delicious dessertMore

We had the most delightful evening at the Cicada restaurant. The tasting menu was absolutely mind-blowing - it seemed like every bite was better that the last! The presentation was just as good as the flavours. And the service was truly exceptional, Lorenzo welcomed us...with a big smile and treated us like kings and queens for the entire meal - the rest of the staff are very good too, they've obviously been trained well! I would go back in a heart-beat!More

Located at the Hameau des Baux hotel near Paradou, the setting is superb especially on a warm summer evening with beautiful grounds and gardens. For dinner, there is an ala carte menu, a 4 course chef’s menu, and a 6 course chef’s menu. The chef’s...menu is a surprise, but they are happy to accommodate preferences... I went with 4 courses and was in for a treat. Starters were: langoustine - carpaccio and grilled, in its own soup - in my opinion the crispy soba noodles didn’t quite fit but the shellfish and flavor were superb ; there was also a yuzu charcoal bread served to accompany which complemented the dish asparagus - served with red tuna and air-dried beef - tasty but a bit too much going on...for example the small sugary discs didn’t add to the dish Main course was lamb with caviar, escargot, and celeriac (thinly sliced and stacked) with a lamb pastry served to accompany - this whole combination worked really well and the meat perfectly tender Dessert was a creme de leche with caviar - I was worried about this dish since I don’t like desserts that are too sweet, but the chef got the flavor balance just right with the caramel, caviar, and chocolate mousse on the inside balancing each other out to create a decadent treat that wasn’t a sugar bomb Service was friendly and engaging and well paced, and the sommelier made some excellent wine recommendations given I wasn’t going to have a full pairing. I know I made some minor comments about the starters (to provide a sense of the cuisine) but the overall experience was superb, the chef executed superbly, and this experience ranks in the top tier of my Michelin 1-star experiences. I am glad I made the trek off the beaten path to partake in this experience.More

The place is cozy, the atmosphere is chic but not stiff. The food is creative combining French cuisine with Asian flavors. It is definitely a fusion cuisine. The art of the chef is to be able to combine some unlikely mixtures of aromas. The service...is cheerful. All in all, it's a great experience, worth the price, although the wine prices are on the high side.More
