Dropped in here whilst in the rathfarmham area of south Dublin after hearing on the grapevine that they have very good Chicken wings. So after parking outside, in we went to very nice, quiet yet stylish pub which seemed to have a few Regular patrons sipping on a pint or two. After a quick chat with manager named Nick who was very helpful and not afraid to recommend which is what we like, we opted for the Korean Wings and chips. As a an Irish man, my pallete is not that advanced and these were just the Right ratio of tasty over spicy. Big portion and some nice skinny fries too, large chips were an option. We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and chat will be back for more. Recommended especially for wings fans looking for the holy Grail.😁🍗🍗🍗

Disappointing food. The tacos were awful, coated in ketchup and mustard, messy to eat. Fish and chips dish was ok but bland, mushypeas portion small and unseasoned.
The atmosphere had been nice until the sports came on. The music was turned off and while being able to view 4 different screens of different matches, the commentary of one match was pumped through the speaker over our heads in the corner and it killed our conversation.
The most disappointing thing for me as DD for the evening - I ordered a pint of Rock Shandy and got served a wineglass of shandy with a straw. Not how I imagined my first return to a pub/indoor dining.

The friendliest pub in Rathfarnham. Always seems to be a good crowd. Very cozy and comfortable. Drink options are very good too. There are events on during the week, they really are putting an effort to keeping people coming back. They are very commanding to private events too. Only giving it four stars as the food has gone downhill since they first opened with the change in ownership. I have tried multiple things on the menu, but not very impressed considering they are charging gastro-pub prices.

First time eating there upon a recommendation. Food very nice especially fillet steak. Service very friendly. Good place for family celebration. 2 drawbacks - ordered salad & jacket potatoe - received chilli mince on potatoe?? Asked for baked potato instead of chips when ordering 3 fillets for €100. Small ask to make the dining experience A1 but refused 🤷. Completely unreasonable given a valid request. Took from overall experience when there to celebrate a family birthday. Will need to think if I'll be back...

All round excellent bar.
The staff are all friendly and could not be more helpful, be it for a few quiet drinks or a larger party. The Guinness is excellent. The food is lovely and reasonably priced.
If you are looking for a pub with great, traditional atmosphere with friendly service, look no further than Revels.

I recently had dinner and drinks in Revels (which i did enjoy) until the bill came along. As we were a group of 6 we were paying separate bills. I asked the lounge girl to bring the card machine so i could pay my €30 share. She told me my card had been declined, i found this strange as i had plenty of money in my account. I asked her could i try a different card machine as this was clearly a problem on their part and not mine as i had checked my bank balance there and then. She then proceeded to bring a different card machine and told me once again that my card was declined, I was absolutely mortified . I then had to go across the road to Centra where i was able to take €50 out of the card machine with no problem at all. I was in a rush and could not wait around for change so i left the 50 on the table which means i gave a €20 tip. A few days later i was going through my bank statement when i noticed that Revels bar had taken the €30 from my account. I called the bar to explain this to them and they asked me to email them regarding the issue. I did so and was told that there was no transaction on their system for that date with my card number. After a very long process and me having to send them over a copy of my personal statement they eventually agreed that yes the money was actually taken from my account. I was a very loyal customer and thought that the way in which the situation was handled was very unprofessional. It took 3 weeks for the money to go back into my account and many hours spent on hold to my bank. I feel like a lot of my time was wasted and barely got an apology from the manager who dealt with the matter.

We had a 70th Birthday Party which I would give this venue 100% for all they did to make the party so special. The food was fantastic & beautifully presented plus Paul & staff catered for every need we had. I recommend this venue for any private function or even a pub visit as it has a magical atmosphere. Had a pleasant evening with friends in revels had good food and a couple of pints. Staff very friendly and efficient. Then I ordered a glass of wine and was charged 8.45 which I think was exhortation. I have never paid so much. Shocked. I can afford it. But I can buy a bottle of wine in supervalu for 8 euro. Sorry lads but won't be back. Rip off!!!.

Only had a couple of snacks here and they were ok but not amazing, on the other hand the wine is good, the staff are very nice, they have the Murphy Sisters playing traditional music (all welcome to join in) on Sundays and I think Wednesday night (they are great). A very pleasant local with a great atmosphere. Only niggles are the TV'S on all the time showing rubbish, "reality" TV and for some reason either golf or racing (although that seems to be a typical Irish thing).

I had to write a review for this excellent pub. I was there yesterday for a Sunday evening catchup with friends. From the minute I went in , the atmosphere was friendly and warm. Then the pints of Guinness. Well they were excellent. Fantastic pub, excellent staff , lovely pint. What more could one want. We will be back. Thanks Derek and Co.

Friend and I stopped by after visiting Rathfarnham castle on recommendation from a local shop-- honestly the best thing about it was the fries! Perfect, golden and crunchy! Staff was super friendly. Burgers were good too; friend and I split a hamburger and chicken sandwich to get the best of both worlds, relatively inexpensive. It was such a nice day we sat outside, but outside patio is smoking--we didn't know, had to kind of suffer through cigarette smoke.

Absolute Disaster
Bar man took ny pint that I had paid for and threw money back at me because he claimed I was too loud even though I was on my own bar was empty and refused to explain why

i called in here for a swift pint, or two, while my wife was enjoying a pedicure two doors away! Just to say that the pub was comfortably busy, there was a lovely atmosphere and the service was very attentive. Thank you!

Well where do I start. Staff couldn't do more for you and they are so friendly. The food was really really good. I'd highly recommend the meatballs & Tacos. But the Guinness was incredible. Will defo be back.
