Regarding the reviews of madame being rude we did not experience this. We had 2 ladies serve us. The older lady was very polite and welcoming and the younger lady (owner?)was charming, asking about our holidays and the children. Fantastic memorabilia to look at and...More

Location fascinating, history important. If this was any other café then you probably wouldn't visit, but because it was the first house to be liberated then you feel you must. Certainly not good value, but then most of us would push up the prices under...More

Sitting here beside the bridge over the Caen Canal was the perfect ending to an anticipated, enjoyable and informative visit to a remarkable historic site. I felt I was part of history as I sipped my wine - served by the daughter of the woman...More

We had a lovely coffee and croissant here one morning before we went to the museum. We sat outside and watched pegasus bridge raise to allow boats through. The cafe has pictures and flags everywhere and is very nice stop for a little visit.

Great little location steeped in history. Well worth a visit even to just buy a book to have a feel of the atmosphere could have been like in days gone by. Be Aware No Toilets

The cafe remains in the hands of the family that were there at WW2. Its a little expensive, but its location (and movie fame) make it a must see if you are here. The inside is itself like a small museum with lots of literature...More
