The restaurant, located in the pocket of San Sebastián, offered us absolute quality. The contemporary atmosphere is very pleasant, the tables are widely spaced and decorated in a sober but elegant way? The waiters and waitresses are very efficient and pleasant, and everyone speaks several languages, which makes understanding much easier in a country where it is often difficult to be understood (in San Sebastián, even the parking meters are only in Basque, which is not spoken nobody in the world). The wine selection is incredible and the prices quite reasonable, and the sommelier offers great advice. We chose the tasting menu, which took us from discovery to discovery, from traditional to contemporary. The execution is perfect, the flavor combinations surprising and delicious. From the beginning to the end of the meal, everything was exquisite, with an overall feeling of lightness. The chef visited all the tables to perfect the overall impression.

My wife and I had lunch here. I was extremely impressed with every aspect of the restaurant.
We ordered from the a la carte menu with a bottle of red wine. The a la carte menu provides you with the same starters and bread as the tasting menu, plus your choice of 3 courses. The food was excellent and quite innovative. Some dishes were a total surprises and extremely clever.
Service was excellent. The sommelier helped us select a great bottle of wine that paired well with our food.
We ate at some great restaurants in Spain on this trip but this was my favorite.

The most amazing meal of a trip to basque country. On the outskirts of San Sebastian, the restaurant has stunning light-filled dining rooms overlooking a verdant garden. The tasting menu was flawless - every dish looked and tasted stunning and the quantities were perfectly judged so one ended up pleasantly full but far from stuffed.
Staff were highly professional and both charming and enthusiastic. The sommelier recommended a wine that perfectly matched our rather vague description and was very very good value.
If in San Sebastian eat here if you can. The sister restaurant in Barcelona, Lasarte is almost, but not quite, as good.

I had the privilege of dining at the Martín Berasategui restaurant in Lasarte-Oria, and the experience was simply extraordinary. From arrival until the last goodbye, everything was taken care of in every detail, making the evening unforgettable.
The tasting menu is an authentic gastronomic journey. Each dish is a work of art, not only for the impeccable presentation but also for the perfect balance of flavors. The highest quality ingredients are combined in innovative creations that tell the story and passion of the chef. Among my favorites, the "Tuétano di ox with hints of the sea" and the "Rosso di pomodoro e caviar", which left the palate ecstatic.
The service is impeccable: the staff is friendly, attentive and highly professional, always ready to explain each course with a smile and unique precision. The atmosphere of the restaurant is elegant and refined, but without being too formal, which makes it perfect for a special occasion.
I highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves signature cuisine. Martín Berasategui is not just a restaurant, it is a complete sensory experience that will remain in the heart and mind for a long time. Well deserved its three Michelin stars!

We were here 10 years ago and loved it. We wondered whether going back was a good idea. It definitely was. Another magnificent meal. From the greeting at the door, all the staff were professional but amiable, making you feel relaxed and at home. The dining room is in a beautiful setting, facing a large private garden and subtly designed to produce a calm relaxed space. The food was art on a plate , a delight to the eyes before being a delight to the taste buds.
I particularly like the completeness of the menu. The tasting menu included an aperitif, bread, about 15 courses and coffee.
Many thanks to the team who knew that lunch was an "experience" and worked hard to make sure each guest had their best best experience, including photos with the chef.

What can you say about a five-star experience? The food is extraordinarily delicious and the atmosphere is relaxing and tasteful. And even though this is a multi-Michelin star restaurant, it is by no means pretentious. In fact, the staff could not be more welcoming and friendly, guiding you expertly during the meal. Yes, it is quite expensive, but also extremely memorable. The food, service and atmosphere justify the extravagance. Our third visit here and we've never been disappointed.

Visit for lunch ◎ There were no Westerners among the customers, it feels like they were almost Japanese! It was a fine shop on the hill, about 15-20 minutes by taxi from the old town. In the window seat, the garden that you can see from the window was very beautiful (^ ^) I asked you to pair the wine, but since the number and quantity of dishes are served well, I felt that it was really for those who can drink. (laughs) Even if it is not a pairing, you can serve your favorite by the glass ◎ All the white wines were chilled and complemented the dishes!
There are several vintage wines from the 2000s, and I felt they were sticking to it.
The food was a bit salty and firm, with lots of fish to suit the Japanese taste!
The food was amazing, not to mention the taste, but the temperature, the texture and the sight! If you have a chance to visit San Sebastián, I would definitely recommend it!
In course 2, pairing 1, glass wine 2
I think it was about 1000 €!

Great experience.
Went with my wife on a trip to San Sebastian. The journey is about 15 minutes from the centre, c.30 EUR in a taxi.
On arrival we were instantly made welcome by the staff, who were as good as I have ever experienced. We speak a little Spanish but they happily conversed in English.
I really liked that we were able to split the tasting menu and a la carte. This is rare and I wish more places did it. I enjoy tasting menus, my wife prefers a la carte and we had the wine tastings with both.
The food was excellent, as expected, and the liquid gilda pinxto was a real example of how good inventive food can be whilst paying homage to the region. The wine tasting was also excellent. Starting with a port is a first, but an excellent pairing.
Overall, a wonderful experience in a lovely setting. The staff definitely made you feel very welcome and the food very satiated! I would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a special meal. The only caveat being that it is not cheap, so go prepared, but you do get what you pay for and as a rare treat it is well worth it.

Martín Berasategui: A Culinary Revelation
Let me preface this by saying I'm a [your level of foodie - adventurous eater, lover of fine dining, etc.]. So, when I say Martín Berasategui blew me away, that's truly saying something.
An Explosion of Flavors
We opted for the tasting menu, and it was an absolute explosion of flavors in the best way possible. It wasn't just about the taste; it was the presentation, the textures, the sheer creativity of each dish. Now, I usually [mention something about your usual food preferences - avoid spice, love seafood, etc.], but here, I embraced everything. The [mention a dish you particularly enjoyed] was a revelation – [describe the dish and how it surprised or delighted you].
Service Fit for Royalty
The staff was phenomenal! They weren't just knowledgeable about the menu – they were passionate about it. They explained each dish in a way that made me even more excited to try it, and they were incredibly attentive without being intrusive. The whole experience felt incredibly personal, like they were catering to royalty (or at least, that's how they made me feel!).
An Investment, But Worth Every Penny
Listen, Martín Berasategui isn't a cheap night out. But for a truly unforgettable fine dining experience, it's absolutely worth the splurge. This is the kind of place you go to celebrate a milestone or treat yourself to something truly special.

One of the top five meals of my life!! I have been to a few three star Michelin restaurants and many well regarded and high end places--this was utterly fantastic. From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure, we experienced convivial and expert service and felt instantly comfortable and at home in what can be an intimidating environment. The cuisine is varied and "cheffy" without either being fussy or over the top. Among many culinary highlights, the appetizer foie gras/eel/apple and the deconstructed "Gilda" stood out early and the "Mushroom" and "Ham" was a fabulous dish. The bite of my bride's red mullet (part of her tasting menu) was the single best bite of fish in my life. I could go on and on but the short summer is that if you have the ability to go here, do not miss!!

Ambience and service are the first two things that stood out as excellent. Some dishes like the smoked eel and baby lamb were so delicious. Others were good but not something to write home about. The ovreuse of shell or skin containing liquid is a bit much; e.g. the “truffle”, “olive”, squid ink balls, …etc.
Overall, a good experience for a steep price.

It has been an experience not to be forgotten, it is known that as a chef he is masterful. The dishes are all a spectacle for both the eye and the palate, it was a shame to destroy those works to eat them because the presentations are wonderful. I wouldn't know what to highlight about the dishes because from the first to the end they are a swing of sensations. The hake, the oyster, the Gilda, etc. I wouldn't know what to say, they were delights, he puts all his knowledge and his person into them. The room team was friendly, affectionate, polite, in short they have a fabulous team, I can't forget the charming sommelier. I have no words for Martin, I pass by all the tables, he is close, caring, friendly, it is a pleasure when a chef of his category makes you feel special and empathizes with you. I will always remember this day. Martin keep it up, you deserve to have all those stars.

I'm sure previous posters will mention all of the food. I want to say some different things about this amazing restaurant.
First, as much as I want to be this world class foodie, I'm just not. I've been to a fair amount of Michelin restaurants, and I have loved the 3 starred ones, but the 1's and 2's are hit or miss. And we brought our young adult teens with us to experience a 3 star restaurant who are also experienced in fine dining, but can also chow down on chicken nuggets. So one thing I loved was the ability for each of us to choose a tasting menu or individual plates. Often restaurants like these only serve tasting menus or require the table to order in the same fashion as one. I appreciate the ability to be flexible with diners.
Second, it was incredible for the Chef to not only be there, but come out and greet his tables. AND take pictures! So many times, a famous chef will finish a career opening restaurants under his/her name, but it'll be run by others and the famous chef won't actually be in the restaurant. Not the case here!
Third, I've found 3-star Michelins to run like clock work. Everything is so well timed and efficient (in a good way). It's like the staff has this synchronized ability to move flawlessly in and around. This restaurant did not disappoint in that regard.
Last, it's not often diners remember each bite or a particular plate. At least not for me. Some I do, some I don't. What I do know is how I FEEL. How the staff made me feel. How the food makes me feel. How my company makes me feel. How the ambience makes me feel. And I can say without hesitation, that Martin Berasategui made us all feel fantastic. Amazing restaurant.
