Recently had a lovely dinner here which was made by the enthusiastic and helpful waiting team. Their excitement for the food and wine and their very helpful suggestions ensured a top night was had by all. The food was good and we had a range of entrees and mains and all were delicious. Certainly going again

We had dinner for four people on Saturday night. We went with the entree special which was a mix of salumi with arancini and some other hot small pieces. Three of our party had the seafood spaghetti and I had the slow roast lamb shoulder. We all had tiramisu for desert. With two bottles of wine and some cocktails the... More

Staff went out of their way to accommodation a member of our party that had food allergies, however meals for the rest of the party were pretty bland and tasteless and not what I expected for a lovely little Italian restaurant in a great area. Definitely not somewhere I would go again so many other amazing choices in the local... More

I live very, very close to this restaurant, and after having read a couple of the negative reviews on TripAdvisor I have avoided it. But then this week at 21:15 I wanted to go eat somewhere nearby with a group of 5. as people may or may not know, a limited number of restaurants have their kitchen still open after... More

Went to Mamma Vittoria's after trying their lunch place across the road a while back. (Pasta Classica) and having some lovely fresh pasta there. Mamma's has a lovely atmosphere and the wait staff are very efficient and friendly. Prior to the meal a complimentary plate of delicious warm bread is served with dipping oil. Yum. We shared crumbed and fried... More

It seems improbable but that is what our enthusiastic waiter claimed, "Sorry we have run out of olive oil!" My exclamation not his. Then later my Margherita pizza arrives - surely the simplest pizza. The tomato sauce topping looked and tasted raw. Plus the pizza was cold! If you are thinking Italian cuisine stay home, make your own!

When visiting Melbourne once again in February we always stop at this little lunch stop. Had the Ravioli and Lasagne or whatever is going at the lunch time. Nothing fancy about this shop but always the best Italian food in Melbourne.

Did a pasta making class you get to have wine, cheese - a lesson in pasta making with both a traditional machine and a whiz bang Smeg - Danny was an outstanding host - he then cooked up the pasta we made - was simply divine - cannot recommend too highly.

Booked a lunch meeting for the four of us and thought our interstate visitors would enjoy a nice meal in our cosmopolitan city, but unfortunately all we received was average food and a very noisy environment. We could barely hear ourselves from all the noise and the food was 'average' to say the least. The service was good and attentive.... More

We've been going to Mamma Vittoria's restaurant (and across the street - their lunch outlet) for a few years now and always found it would hit the spot. They have a family-style approach - so order an entree - share that, order a pasta - share that, pizza - share that. Or you can simply just order what you want... More

Staying in Fitzroy

Neighbourhood Profile
Fitzroy
Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots, hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic. Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll find little independent shops where local clothes and furniture designers display their wares. There are specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its cuisine and art galleries, but if you want to buy an old-fashioned snooker table, there is a shop for that too. Small pubs still exist, tucked away on the corners of suburban side streets that serve up traditional Sunday roasts. Live music abounds, and the street performers play so hard you worry to tip them would ruin their concentration. Venture to the Spanish quarter on Johnston Street and you may even find street dancing. It is all happening amidst off-beat street murals and the shuffle of a very funky neighbourhood that embraces both old and new.
