Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked Sunday lunch in Busherstown House in January. I booked by email, and had a lovely conversation with Aaron Elliston Jones. It was for 6 adults. When we arrived at Busherstown House, it was closed. All locked up! It looked like it hadn't been...open for some time! I'm absolutely disgusted. It was for a very special occasion, my parents 45th wedding anniversary! We were left standing in the rain with nowhere to go!More

We enjoyed our first visit so much we obviously returned. Again it was very easy to arrange, and an easy trip along the motorway with a very short drive off at the Monegal turn-off. It was a very cold frosty day, so lovely to be...welcomed into a dining room with a roaring log fire. Aaron was very attentive and welcoming as usual. Relaxing meal for the two of us to enjoy an evening out together. Food was delicious throughout, lovely Soup and delicious Soda bread to start. We really enjoyed the Lasagna with salad for the main course. Dessert was delicious cheesecake. At the end it was nice to sit and chat having coffee by the log fire. A really lovely evening out for the two of us. We're looking forward to our next visit.More

We had an amazing dinner for two. Very easy to organise and book. Aaron asked about our food allergies or avoidances. It was bring your own bottle of wine. The specific menu was left to his discretion. It was convenient to get to; just off...the M7 at Monegal. We were welcomed by Aaron into a lovely comfortable warm historical old house dining room, with a roaring log fire. He was very attentive and warmly hospitable throughout. We had a set 4 courses, all of which were fresh and beautifully cooked. The emphasis was very much on local produce. Our meal consisted of soup, (and bread with local butter) which was delicious. The main course was superb, chicken breast (the nicest I've tasted) with a delightful sauce (I'm not normally that much into sauces, but this was amazing) and fresh delicious vegetables. Dessert was also really delicious. Rounded off by local cheeses with a beautiful home made chutney and fresh coffee. Service throughout was impeccable, and it was an absolutely beautiful setting. Aaron also shared some of the history of the building and locality. We had a lovely evening, with lovely food, and are planning to return soon !More

The proprietor, Aaron, who is also a professional chef, prepared a four-course, Michelin three-star dinner for just our family of four in a formal dining room. The food was all locally produced or homegrown, he was very welcoming and told great stories. It really was...the best dinner experience we ever had. The next morning, Aaron arranged to cook breakfast for us at a nearby manor where we were staying. He prepared a full Irish breakfast and homemade granola with yogurt. Both dinner and breakfast were very reasonable.More

Busherstown House is so much more than a restaurant experience - it's more like being a valued guest in a beautiful home with pleasant views. We were a party of 14 booked in for lunch to celebrate a 'significant' birthday and we were not disappointed....The food is all local, high quality, beautifully cooked and plentiful. Well priced, especially as you can bring your own wine, with no corkage charged. I was pleasantly surprised with a beautiful strawberry sponge birthday cake, and Aaron treated us to a little local history over coffees. Busherstown House is a very welcome addition to the food scene in the area, and we look forward to visiting again.More

I was among a group of guests invited to celebrate a friends birthday. She had chosen a Sunday afternoon lunch in Busherstown House for her celebration. From the moment we were greeted by Aaron, our host, to the time we left we enjoyed the relaxed...ambience of the traditional Irish country house. Entering through the grand hallway into the high ceilinged imposing dining room with its blazing fire, the stage is set for the delightful meal that followed with, as Aaron, all ingredients sourced from their own farm or local organic suppliers. We had a magnificent afternoon and for me a wonderful find in Busherstown House. I'll be back.More

I very highly recommend Busherstown House for an evening meal or lunch. Upon arrival we were greeted by Aaron and led into the drawing room where a welcome fire on this cold January night was ready, a drink or two later and it was time...for dinner in the dining room. The room itself is exceptionally well appointed, with the roaring open fire being the centre piece. Once seated, we were served an incredible tomato soup to start, followed by 3 more delicious and fabulously cooked courses all made from local and Busherstown’s own produce. This isn’t a restaurant where one simply goes to eat and leave, think of it rather as a memorable evening out coupled with exceptional food, ambience and hosting. We are already looking forward to returning.More

What an amazing experience having Sunday lunch at this grand old house.we were made so welcome by the host upon entering, and the ambience and warmth from the beautiful open fires in both the sitting and dining room was wonderful. The food was excellent and plentiful,from...the homemade bread, country butter and homegrown vegetables.,to name but a few. The soup of the day was delicious and the added thought of presenting a birthday cake at the end of the meal for my daughters birthday, just made it very unexpected and special.i would highly recommend a visit to this special place.thank you to both Aaron and his mum ,Mylene.More
