Because the restaurant was full on Saturday night we booked on Sunday night, but to our surprise this was a rather quiet evening. However, we were not sorry we went. The weather was not good enough to sit outside, but the view from the hill...top, just in front of the restaurant, is lovely, you see all the lights of Vicenza. The owner and staff are very friendly and he speaks English very well. The interior is stylish. We chose an antipasti to share and that was no problem at all. We were each given a plate. The main courses were good. And the dessert was delicious, warm fondant chocolate soufflé with ice cream and a coulis of red fruit. Do recommend this restaurant.More

I had one of the best meals here at Al Cavallino. The restaurant is near the lookout next to the post office building. The view from there is spectacular. You cannot see the view from the restaurant but the lookout is opposite side of the...square where the restaurant is located. I had to wait for 30 minutes because I did not call ahead and trusted the hours stated in the English website. I was glad that I did not leave like the German speaking 4 people who left 10 minutes to 7:30 PM. I ordered the rabbit, grilled veggies, and a glass of local wine. Because the rabbit would take 25 minutes to cook, the wait staff (I believe he owns the restaurant) offered me free appetizer (prosciutto with creamy mozzarella cheese - yummy) while wait. Rabbit fell off the bones, and I could tell the freshness and quality of vegetables. Wine was recommended by the wait staff to match the rabbit - perfect. If I did not need to wait, I would have rated 5. I would be very happy if my mate brings me here. It is romantic.More

The food was outstanding. The seasonal vegetable was presented several different ways and each was delicious. Waitstaff was very attentive, wonderful service.

I love this place, located in a nice little village on top of a hill. Beautiful view, ancient and well kept buildings. Owner is exquisitely kind. Ambiance is warm, cozy and elegant at the same time, without overdoing it. Food is made to order so...take into account a short wait. Great wine cellar (great red and white wines are produced in this North-Western part of Italy). I had polenta in a bed of melted Asiago cheese and porcini. Sublime. Nirvana reached with fresh made bigoli (homemade fresh pasta typical of Veneto region) with porcini mushrooms and duck ragout. Strongly recommended if you happen to be in this area. Prices adequate to quality. Love you little horse (Cavallino's meaning).More

My wife and I have been there several times. Our favorite appetizer are the sardines with sweet onion cream, the thinly sliced octopus and the tuna tartare. All the pastasare excellent however the Strozzapreti pasta with prawns, clams, mussels and tomatoes is our favorite. Another...great choice the linguine pasta with Scallops, cherry tomatoes and avocado. For the main course we recommend the grilled t-bone steak and the rabbit. Their desserts are ALL delicious.More

This place is classy and the food is original and delicious. Different than the usual Italian fare, but still similarities to make it Italian. The waiter/owner was very friendly, spoke awesome English, and told us a little about the dishes we were ordering. They work...hard here, are very busy, and popular.More

I visit Al Cavallino every time I return to Italy. The service is professional; the food is great and the wine divine. We took my mom here for her birthday. I have to say my teen daughters had a hard time to choose something to...eat but at the end they were very satisfied. Don’t go there before 7pm, they would not give you even water…Italians eat late and that’s a fact. We had a reservation for 7.30pm but arrived at 7.10pm, there was nobody there, and we were seated but warned that someone will be with us at 7.30pm! Oh well, different country different customs. My favorite dishes are the “Truffle tagliatelle” and “tagliata” which is beef filet cooked on charcoals that melts in your mouth.More
