Other newer bars come and go ,but for consistent good service, quality of beers the "Anchor " is always the tops.

A very lovely cottage; cosy and charming. Excellent location with plenty of walks for humans and dogs in guisborough forrest 5 minutes from the door of the cottage. The coast is within 15 minutes drive. A lovely open fire to settle down to and the cottage itself was spotlessly clean. We will go back, we loved it!!

I'm alone among friends regarding Sam Smiths public houses. For me it represents good beer at affordable prices. The Anchor goes beyond that by having plenty of room and an excellent warmly heated courtyard with comfortable seating. While the purists drinking branded spirits may want their usual tipple, beer drinkers can't fail to be impressed with what Mr Smith has... More

Love this place! From the front, It looks like a typical 'drinkers' pub, but once inside, you realise it's more! There is a quaint little covered courtyard area that is perfect for whiling away those weekend afternoons. Then, out back, there's an even quaint beer garden...with its own "Bug Hotel"!😁 We haven't even started talking about the drinking yet. Needless... More

being non local to the area we took the plunge and visited this popular pub, seemed everyone knew each other but didn't once feel uncomfortable. Cheap Samuel Smiths beer and Gin!

Old fashioned, three cosy little rooms, we liked the indoor courtyard, the log fire was burning, definitely on our hit list at guisborough. It is one of the best pubs we have tried in Guisborough! x

Best ales and lager in town (area) at the best prices. The patrons are a mixture of age groups and nearly all local, some of the best wit to be experienced. Landlord is friendly. This is a local treasure.

No music, no TV's - a traditional pub. A very warm welcome by the bar staff and friendly banter with the locals. A great little find - and very good value - thee pints for £5.08.
