Stopped in on a whim while driving from Folkstone to Whitstable - excellent whim. Two of us had a very nice "light" lunch (actually delicious and quite substantial). We had the Plowman's lunch, vegetarian pea soup, and the Cornish pasty lunch - all were delicious, the hot things hot and the cold things cold, and beautifully presented. Staff was friendly... More

Stopped here for a light lunch whilst on a circular walk from Lymnge. We both opted for the cheddar ploughmans. The bread was just out of the oven, with plenty of butter and accompanied with two different side salads, a separate dressing, pickles and baby onions all you would expect. The plates were groaning under the generous portions. The service... More

We stopped off here for lunch based on the reviews on this site and sadly won't be going back, even though its local. Service was slow, to be fair we did follow in a big group of cyclists, though equally plenty of staff around. I ordered homemade quiche and salad, my wife jacket potato with well-done bacon and beans. I... More

Hi Mike, I'm so sorry you felt disappointed by your visit, but I cannot understand when this happened as we have been closed for over a month now for our winter break, and our last big group of cyclists was in November ??? As there are only ever two staff - a cook and barista/ waitress - it can take... More

Popped in here for a coffee and to try a slice of cake and was not disappointed! The carrot cake I had was the best carrot cake I've ever had. A lovely place to sit and relax with friends and family, very friendly cosy atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

I knew it as the old post office when I lived in Elam and what a lovely surprise to find it had become the most gorgeous tea room. It is indeed very cosy but the food is the winner! Having holidayed in UK for 5 weeks I finally found the best fruit scones ever, which is my criteria for a... More
