Always trying to go some where different for lunch , but disappointed the server was cutting the meat as thin as physically possible , felt it was a bit unnecessary being so mean .

Situated overlooking the river with plenty of outdoor seating for the good weather. A very spacious pub, friendly staff and a good menu of typical British pub food at very reasonable prices. Ate very nice steaks in the evening and well presented ploughmans for lunch. A popular carvery is also available with different size options. A range of real ales... More

A family gathering was spoilt by the small quantity of food delivered to the table. The food was good and well presented.

We stayed at the Passage Inn Hotel but ate here for our 3 night stay. Good food, large portions. Friendly service esp waitresses. Otter beer v good. Just avoid facing the very bright lamp in the corner!!

Went on Friday 6th Jan 2016. Wife ordered fish which had bones in. Waitress asked how meal was so we explained and she said she'd notify the chef. We were ignored for the rest of our evening having had to leave the fish mainly uneaten. Very disappointing and sadly wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone. As leaving a fair review... Very poor meal which had been booked for some time. Only 2 choices of meat for the carvery, turkey and beef. They ran out of beef. I was one of the last to get some and it was not good. The only vegetables, apart from roast potatoes was red cabbage, carrots and Brussel sprouts. The sprouts were burnt on the... More

I was a little unsure, having read negative reviews on T.A. However, personal experience shows a different story. The Inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Waiting staff, helpful & friendly. My 'other half' chose a Cheddar Ploughmans, while I opted for a Beef & Horseradish Sandwich. Both were excellent, fresh, & served with usual Crisps Salad Coleslaw etc. So much... More

Went for drinks at 7:45-9:30pm. The pub was extremely quiet. People standing at the bar but service quick and attentive. Guinness poured far too quickly though- training needed! Tables sticky, not from food as suggested in previous posts, but old varnish. The whole pub needs a well needed facelift but without the customers coming through the door it is easier... More
