We decided to go to Hurley for a walk and popped in for a quiet drink. The pub is lovely. We decided to have a meal. Ham egg and chips and a steak. Absolutely good. The service was good and would definitely recommend Hurley and...More

Having spent the last week in Hurley we visited the Rising Sun on several occasions. It is a dog friendly establishment with friendly staff and customers. We finished off our stay with an excellent steak dinner and will definitely return.

Staying nearby, I fancied a drink out. At first, I tried a pub down the road which was unwelcoming. So glad I left and came to this pub. Great atmosphere, great staff, great beer and great food :)

Having arrived late to stay in the village we decided to eat as close by as possible and our hostess recommended the Rising Sun. I had an enormous, tender, fillet steak served on a hot skillet of vegetables which were clearly fresh. My husband had...More

I accidentally left my card behind the bar and despite at least 3 phone calls, they have still not bothered to post it to me as they kept promising. Food is quantity over quality and the menu lacks inspiration.

Clean, warm, cosy, friendly, relaxing , set in the beautiful old village of Hurley. The village dates back to 700 ad and is recorded in the Domesday, the old church is still standing which was once the nave to the old Priory until 1536 when Henry Vlll dissolved the Monasteries. The River Thames is just 4 min walk from the Rising Sun. Built around 1830 the pub is a big favorite with walkers, ramblers, boating people alike. There is a fantastic caravan and camping site just down the road, which is among the top 5 sites in the UK for static, mobile and camping. We have a village shop, a church and a small B&B. The village is heaving in the summer months with tourists enjoying the camping and picnic areas right on the River Thames.Soft comfortable chairs and settees, log fire for the cold winter months. Home cooked and prepared traditional pub food plus specials, 4 ever changing real ales from local brewer's and a selection of lagers.
