La Ventanita is small family run business out of our home. As people would describe us "A hidden gem, A hole in a wall restaurant" with our new location with spectacular view of the Volcano and lake Arenal. Serving our house special Burrito Extrem and natural fruit smoothies and milkshakes.

After waiting for three days, first on sunday since they ran out of ingredients and then it was closed on tuesday,. We finally got a chance to eat here on our last day in the area. Restaurant is on a uphill in El Castillo village....Views are great with lake and volcano. It is owned by Kelly, an american but you won't notice that while eating food there since taste is typical Costa Rican. The prices were really affordable and made us realize how much we overpaid for food at other places. Portion size was really big. One burrito is enough for one person as a one meal. We also had milkshakes which were amazing too. Restaurant deserves a the.good reviews it is getting. We would love to come here again, this time multiple times if we visit Costa Rica again.More

We stopped here after visiting the butterfly conservatory. The burrito was fabulous and the service was very friendly. The views of the lake are also great. Definitely worth visiting.

The food is absolutely delicious here! My family of 8 came for a lunch on vacation and felt that we had found a hidden gem. The owner and his wife are friendly and welcoming. If it wasn’t so far from where we were staying we’d...probably be back several times before leaving the country to go back to the states. The price is right, the food is a level ten, and the view is spectacular. (If I had to think of anything negative thing to say it would be the limited parking, but I do think they are currently building and it will get better in time!)More

Where can I start? The food was amazing, and the service was on point! We loved it so much that we decided to come back a second time to try the other food in the menu. A decision that we definitely don't regrets! Pick anything...from the menu and it's going to be very delicious! Also we had freshly-made cocktails with rum, and it was very refreshing. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for authentic food!More

Getting there wasn’t easy. Lots of curvy roads. Missed it on our first pass. Backtracked and found it. One or two parking spots only at the time as they are renovating. All outdoor seating. Fantastic view from a hill overlooking Lake Arenal. Prices very reasonable...for fantastic food! Owner is from California, speaks Spanish and English very well. Motorcycles everywhere that you can rent if you wish. They are also part of the decor. Friendly cat also on site. Food is prepared fresh, to perfection. Huge portions. You will not go away hungry. Makes fantastic fruit smoothies, and will add a little rum if you wish. Home-made chips for the nachos. This place was worth the drive from Arenal Observatory Lodge.More

We cannot say enough about this place. It is SO YUMMY. The tacos, the burritos, the quesadillas...all were amazing. The side salsa was also very much appreciated, as it actually had a bite to it! We ate here three times during our few days in...El Castillo/La Fortuna for our honeymoon. The best part though was the MILKSHAKES. Papaya and chocolate. I cannot stress this enough: you MUST get the milkshakes. I have never had a better milkshake. We will miss this place when we go back home.More

My boyfriend claims he had the best burrito of his life Kelly's Window/La Ventanita! It was sure delicious. I had the Vegan Tico Bowl which also was great. This is a great spot for a lunch. You just order at the window and then sit...down and relax. We honestly regret not haven eaten there again on our trip. Very enjoyable experience at a great price.More

We stopped in here one day for lunch because of all the awesome reviews we saw and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing! We all talked about how sad we were that we didn’t make time to visit them a second time during...our stay in El Castillo. If you’re in the area, you have to eat at this spot!More

Tasty food, good portions, delicious fresh drinks, definitely not fast food. Clean toilet for customers, parking limited.

This is one of the best places we ate in Costa rica (and we were all over the place over 6 weeks) The food is fresh, good flavors and big portions. The prices were great! Highly recommend.

I would ask the Arenal Lodge to find out for you. The food is delicious, with a low-key atmosphere.
