Went here yesterday..This little place is at the other end of Avellanas beach if you follow the road from the main entrance of Lolas..Its a typical CR style bar and restaurant just off the beach in a rancho style setting..The owner is very friendly and will happily sit at the bar with you and chat for hours! whilst petting yours... On our first night in Playa Avellana we went to Gregorios for dinner. The food was delicious and authentic with no frills. And the servers were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend going for an easy lunch/dinner and drinks.

Oh man this place is just a perfect little dinner spot located right off the beach in Avellanas. We enjoyed several meals here during our stay. The Casado is excellent and the pescado entero is even better (hint combine the two and go casado with whole fish). Will definitely return here on another visit.

Mi amigos and I had a great time hanging out and eating lunch here. the staff was friendly as were the locals also there. I had the fried whole fish and it was my favorite meal of the trip. Delicious! They have a pool table and some gambling plinko pinball games, those were fun. Close to the beach but not... More

We happened into Gregorios on New Year's day when everything else was closed. They prepared a really nice lunch for 6 of us consisting of burritos and papas fritas. They boxed them nicely so we could carry them down to the beach for a nice picnic lunch on Playa Avellanas. We inquired about some hot sauce to take with us... More

We had rented a house in the area and been eating at Lola's almost every day and became tired of it and found this place. The food was delicious and the cost, with beers and rum drinks, was just $42. The same meal at Lola's would have been double. It's a local little place, not the flash of Lola's, but... More

An amazing place to have a real costarican experience, unexpensive compared to lot of other place in guanacaste. It offer good local food, in a really nice atmosphere, with local music and a billiard, really near to avellanas. Definitely don't miss it!

My wife and I enjoyed drinks here a few nights and dinner once. The food was great and at a Tico price. The owner was nice and accommodating. WE also enjoyed playing pool on the pool table while we waited. I will be back.

We ate some gallo pinto for breakfast but also noticed they had casado and dinner. Also a little bar to get beers etc. The food was fresh and at a very decent price, way cheaper than the nearby beachfront restaurant. The owner was nice and very accomodating. Two dishes of gallo pinto, toast and coffee was about $10. I would... More
