About
Under new management, we have changed the focus of Overton House. As well as serving homemade soups, light lunches, snacks and an array of sweet treats, we also sell many of these items to take out. Soup, sandwiches, savouries, scones and cakes are some examples. The small shop section of the cafe sells unusual deli items, Emma Bridgewater pottery and delicious treats from the likes of Mad Hatter Tea, Corks and Cases Masham, Taylor's of Harrogate and Rosebud Preserves. As we're a family-owned, family-run business, we close on Mondays and Thursdays. Please note, at present we are operating for take away food and drinks only.

We had been for a run up Arkengarthdale in the morning and by the time we got back to the van we were ready for some warming lunch. We fancied soup, trouble is every time we buy soup from a cafe it’s far too salty!...My wife suggested we try Overton House, I had carrot and coriander, she had tomato and lentil! What a fab choice, the soups were perfect and tasted homemade, the salt content was just right, reasonably priced too! We will definitely visit again, we are local so hopefully it won’t be too long before we can try another flavour! Thank you!More

We stopped for a snack lunch and ordered hot sandwiches that we ate outside the cafe on a table provided. Quick service with a smile, tasty sandwiches served in a covid safe way.

Staff are super friendly, more than accommodating and the food was delicious. We were a party of five adults and four kids in total. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

What a find this was. We visited the area of Reeth on recommendation and picked this tearoom/cafe after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. They were so right, wow, the food was amazing. We had scones with jam and cream and they were amazing. Staff...also absolutely lovely. Reeth, although a small place is well worth a visit and you must definitely pick this tearoom above any of the others.More

After a lovely walk along the river we called in for lunch. A cold December day and it was very busy. Lovely greeting and service from the girls. Enjoyed the food and overall friendliness. When next in Reeth I won’t be going anywhere else.

Four of us dropped in looking for a coffee on a cold November morning and couldn't have been more delighted. Such a warm welcome, delicious cakes and a memorable and large sausage roll. It's the sort of place where you end up talking to others...on adjoining tables - a great atmosphere.More
