Visited this wonderful restaurant with 3 friends and we all had the tasting menu. It was 9 (or so) courses of the finest flavours. Expertly created and exquisitely presented. The Chef explained each dish (in Spanish) and was clearly passionate about his creations. We had...wonderful wine to go with the food and the service and atmosphere was perfect. This is a small restaurant, so you should ensure you reserve a table. It's way off the beaten track but worth the effort. It is an absolute gem and I very much hope to return again one day.More

Beautiful mountain setting, a bit of a pain to get to. But once there you are transported in terms of the setting and the food. I had been hearing about this little gem for a while and finally went - not disappointed at all. Very...creative food coming out and presented so beautifully. It's a set menu so besides letting them know regarding allergies you leave yourself in their hands. Highly recommend the place. My only issue is the wine menu is not tremendous which is a shame - solid but not wow to match the food. Otherwise sublime.More

We had a wonderful 10 course meal last night, amazing flavours and presentation. We were particularly pleased that they took the trouble to write the whole menu out in English, so we didn't miss any of the lovely tastes. Thank you!

We stumbled up on this cute restaurant and made a reservation immediately. The dinning room is just stunning with some amazing views! It's so cozy! We tried the summer menu (I believe we were the first ones!) It was great - clearly made with love...and detail. There where 8 plates - all of them very interesting and really cool presentation. This restaurant really is a Gem as the price was very affordable and the restaurant was not pretentious at all as you would expect from an 8 course testing menu. Will definitely be back and can't wait! I might stay at the hotel too next time as everything seems to be taking care of worth a lot of love. Go go go I forgot to say they where also very accommodating with children as they made my little sister a special meal for her as she is a fussy eater. Even though I was extremely satisfied I don't know if the food wid have been enough for a man...you can read a review by a man to see if he was satisfied!More

An excellent dinner of 7 courses each with a artisan made beer to compliment the food. A fantastic setting with magnificent views across a wooded valley. Very good, attentive service. I also had breakfast there which was also beautifully prepared and presented. This place is...a bit off the beaten track but well worth effort to find it and enjoy a unique culinary experience. The village of Torazo is also very pretty.More

Los Llaureles Restaurante and Rural Hotel is a hidden jewel near Asturias (Spain) that is well worth a detour or even a special trip. Located in rural green hills, the exquisitely-restored and tastefully decorated farmhouse immediately impresses the guest. The owners are welcoming and attentive...to any need. The accommodations are private, comfortable, relaxing, clean and the decor includes local art and charm. Restaurant meals are by reservation only, which is easily accomplished along with the room reservation or independently. Email or phone reservations are answered promptly and great care is taken to learn of any health issues or allergies. Diners may choose their own meal times to suit their own schedule. With only one table seating per meal in the intimate dining room, diners are never rushed and can linger over the delicious food. My husband enjoyed the chef's spring tasting menu. Seated comfortably next to a blazing fireplace, we enjoyed watching daylight turn to evening with a view of nearby horse pastures and hillside forests as our dining adventure unfolded. Chef Carlos Gallegos and his staff presented course after course of imaginative, beautiful and delicious food featuring local specialties of the season paired with wines. Some of the courses included homemade potato chips drizzled with chocolate and anise, marmalade of jamon, spinach and strawberry salad, tuna with avocado sauce, skewered coconut shrimp with dipping sauce, seafood crepes, seafood soup with melon and shrimp. The food was not only delicious, it was a visual work of art. Each course seemed to exceed our building expectations. When we were completely sated and thought we could not eat one more bite, we were tempted by a delectable dessert. The menu changes with the season and special event menus are offered throughout the year. The chef prepares the food in a spotless, modern kitchen filled with windows. Guests can view kitchen preparations from the adjoining view deck while sipping an afternoon glass of wine. The food is not served with a stuffy or condescending attitude. Chef Carlos prepares the ultimate of fine dining and he serves it with the genuine desire that his guests relax and enjoy their meal. We could feel his love and his passion in the food as we ate. I have eaten in upscale restaurants and aboard 6-star cruise ships around the world. I have never eaten such a beautifully presented, delicious meal in my life. I learned of Los Llaureles Restaurante and Rural Hotel from a personal recommendation and now I look forward to my next opportunity for a longer visit.More
