Very nice inn with lots of atmosphere, own brewery, restaurant with good food and even rooms in the newly refurbished hotel. As it's in the middle of nowhere, very welcome.

We recently visit hadrians wall for a couple of days, we had lunch here on the first day and returned for dinner the following evening, the food was excellent and the home made beer excellent. Very welcoming for dogs. Highly recommended

We walked probably the best preserved section of the Hadrian's Wall from Housesteads fort and visitor centre heading west, then headed down to the road to catch the regular hourly bus service back to the start. An unexpected bonus was coming across this roadside pub...More

Good food and a nice selection of local beers. Well located to Hadrian's Wall, especially Steel Rig Car Park and Housesteads Fort, and to Vindolanda. Typical pub style food but the steak & ale pie and the several sandwiches were all thought to be very...More

Stopped here whilst walking Hadrian's Wall for a meal. Good menu and lovely food in a friendly atmosphere. Locally brewed beer (literally next door) available. Mostly walkers, fantastic camaraderie.

We had dinner after a day's biking Hadrian's Wall. It's the only restaurant in the area and it was great. They accommodated my gluten free requirement with no issues and even had a gluten free beer available. The service was great. We arrived a little...More

This special place is only a ballista throw from sycamore gap and if you rush out the door and across the road you fall into the vallum. When I first visited this pub at the end of the last century it smelt of my Grandfather's...More

We were staying next door at the Youth Hostel and were delighted at the quality of the food on offer in the pub next door. Fresh, local ingredients prepared with care and attention to detail.

It would not be uncommon for a place literally in the middle of nowhere to just be getting by on quality. That is not the case here. Not only do they stock an excellent selection of cask beers (and probably by this posting are serving...More

Description
The Twice Brewed is set amongst some of the most breathtaking scenery in England and stands in the shadows of Steel Rigg, without doubt one of the most dramatic parts of Hadrian’s Wall.
The Inn is situated on the B6318 (The Military Road) midway between Newcastle Upon Tyne in the East and Carlisle in the West and is close to all the main Roman sites – Vindolanda, Housesteads and The Roman Army Museum. The Inn is on the popular Pennine Way route and welcomes walkers with a drying room and other facilities. We are also on the Hadrians Cycleway (Route 72) and near the Sandstone Way cycle route.
We are 4 miles away from Haltwhistle train station and 15 miles away from Hexham train station
