Visited for lunch. Food very good and excellent value. 4 people shared 2 starters and each had a main course, with 1 litre of wine, beer and waterms for less than 65€. We ate on the terrace upstairs, overlooking the river. Mertola is built on a hill so may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties. If you can... More

We loved our salad meals - they were fresh and delicious. The setting was attractive, the food wonderful and the service both friendly and unobtrusive. Overall a lovely evening in a beautiful setting

It was our first visit and Im sure won't be our last. Such a beautiful and friendly place. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent. Quiet and subtly lit restaurant with lots of old books quirkily arranged. Lots to look at. The terrace overlooks the Guadiana River perfectly..... ideally for a pre-dinner drink or lunch.

A wonderful restaurant in the old village area of Mertola - with 3 entrances you really shouldn't be able to overlook it! As it was mid-October, the evening was a bit chilly, so eating on the terrace wasn't on our agenda, although we did get offered the option. The downstairs interior dining area is full of character, and we were... More

This outside terrace boasts lovely views of the river Guadiana in the old and characterful part of Mertola. The chef is a Romanian woman and the waitress is her daughter, both of whom emigrated to Portugal about 8 years ago. The food and wine was very good and the service warm and friendly. If you go, you must try the... More

We came here with a group of 11. The restaurant was due to be closed on the day we were coming but opened up for us (always worth asking!). We had pre-ordered a group menu with a Portuguese version of jambalaya (not quite like the Creole original but still very good) and chicken in a creamy rocket sauce. We were... More

Impressive view of the Guadiana. Ancient town of Mertola. Healthy food. Novel combinations of flavours. Like orange and beets and dades and oregano in a salad.

This Restaurant is a family affair. The waitress and her mother do everything to help you enjoy the setting here. The food is very good, tasty and all fresh! We were a family of 5, 4 adults and a child. We had rustic bread cheese and ham and olives to start, steak, pork and lamb. All meals were gorgeous with... More

Called in for lunch on a very hot day. Lovely refreshing salads, the waitress was very good, friendly and helpful. Lunch was so good we came back for Dinner on the terrace. It was lovely both food and drinks. Stayed until closing. A lovely place. Thank you for your hospitality.
