I’ve come a few times and the quality and variety of seafood is very good. They have everything from monkfish, scallops and mussels to oysters, salmon and hake. I had the cold seafood platter which was really good. They also have meat like duck, steak and chicken for meat lovers. The service is very good and the atmosphere is dim lit and romantic with candles. The portions are good and they give a big bowl of vegetables and potatoes with main courses. The downside is the very high prices. An average starter costs 10, and mains are around 25. Our bill for three people with a starter and main each and one drink each came up to 120. Overall good quality fine dining seafood with a romantic atmosphere and attentive staff.

We sat at a table beside a welcome fire on a cold and windy day. We had gorgeous seafood chowder and the waiter recommended half bowls which was much appreciated when our hake main from the specials board arrived. Both starter and main courses were tasty and we were disappointed we couldn’t fit in a dessert on this occasion. We will definitely be back the next time we’re on the area.

Recently my wife and I had dinner there and it was a very nice, but not special meal for the price. I started with the Gamba prawns which were lovely and garlicky, but were small enough I could have eaten more. My wife had the Turbot for mains and it was really tasty & well flavoured. I had the seared scallops which were excellent but they weren't hot enough which disappointed me. And we had to pay for the vegetables €4.50 which I find annoying when paying 2€6-28 for the main course itself??? The staff were fine but not exactly warm and welcoming albeit a very busy night. Our bill came to just over €100 with a couple of glasses of wine, definitely a chef who can cook, a fab location with a brilliant view but they have a no. of things wrong, which if corrected would make it a superb restaurant......

Beautiful location, we were seated by a window with a lovely view. The service was unfriendly there was no sense of welcome. We felt the focus was get us in, serve us and move us out asap.We have eaten on a few previous occasions and were so looking forward but honestly were quite disappointed. The prawn starter was very nice but pricey at 13 euro for 3 prawns!!,the scallops were nice but not fab as expected and just about warm when served. The duck was good and creme caramel redeemed what was really a very disappointing meal. COVID-19 is a challenge for customers as well as businesses so a little advice for the owners encourage your front of house staff to try a little harder to welcome customers and they just might come back. Disappointed customer.🤔

O’Gradys has always been the culinary highlight of any visit to Galway for me, for the last twenty years. Regrettably, I will think twice or maybe three times before returning again on my next visit. Having considered their online menu I was looking forward to their oysters and seafood platter or perhaps some fresh crab or lobster. Unfortunately, none of it was available on the night I attended with my wife and daughter. Neither of whom had been before and they had high expectations, based on my previous experiences. More disappointing though was the surly, uninterested attitude of our male waiter. We weren’t invited to order any pre-dinner drinks but when I ordered Hendricks and Tonic for the three of us he nonchalantly explained he didn’t have any nice glasses or cucumber, so did I still want them!!! Maybe he was just trying to manage our expectation. We accepted them regardless in straight glasses with a lemon wedge. They were unremarkable. When asked about the possibility of any seafood for dinner (as it wasn’t on the printed menus we had) he said, no! It had always been the combination of excellent food and service that had drawn me back time and again, year after year. Regardless of the high quality chowder, gambas, hake and steak dishes that we reluctantly ordered, the service really let the whole experience down. At 50 euro per head, including drinks, it was not overly expensive nor cheap, but figure in the 50 euro round trip taxi from the city and I probably wouldn’t bother again. Certainly not before checking if the self proclaimed “oyster and seafood bar” actually had any oysters and seafood. Our experience at their sister restaurant 2 days earlier was far superior. They actually had oyster and seafood on the menu, ( which were excellent) and the staff were all delightful. Really disappointing O’Gradys.

My husband loves seafood and so during a recent stay in Bearna we had to go to O'Gradys on the Pier. This is a brilliant little place with a homely feel to it. We were greeted by a lovely lady who had a wicked sense of humor and we really enjoyed her antics, all the locals seemed to know her and she definitely added to our whole experience. We were seated downstairs so I cant comment on the upstairs area. The seafood was beautiful ( I'm told) he had the Gamba prawns to start and Sole on the bone as main and was delighted with it, I had the Goats cheese to start and the most delicious steak for main, we followed it with a cheese board and we had a bottle (or two) of an Argentinian Malbec. Over all a wonderful experience and we look forward to going back West again. This is a busy spot so be sure to book.

Stopped by for a late lunch with the family. We had chowder oysters to start, followed by seafood platter and fish & chips. Everything was cooked to perfection. The batter on fish & chips was perfect, as often a lot of places get this wrong. Service was efficient and friendly. Nice selection of craft beers. Will be back.

We had a table for four and they sat us in the widow overlooking the harbour. The view was complemented by the food. Fresh Oysters with a vinaigrette to start followed by the seafood linguine....which was the best I have ever tasted. Honestly! Price was great as well 115 Euros including drinks and discretionary 10% tip which I gladly paid. Keep up the good work guys!

We had lovely lunch here overlooking the sea. We booked it in advance. The only negative was we got overcharged on our bill by 7:50eu....got charged for 3 desserts when we only got two. We aren't local to restaurant and we only noticed when we were half way home.

Had a delicious meal at this beautifully situated restaurant on the waterfront. Social distancing was very evident and allowed us to enjoy our meal in comfort. We ate fish throughout which was really fresh ( chowder was divine) but there is a good choice for non fish eaters. Very reasonably priced for quality offered. Well worth a visit if in the area. Staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Thank you.

Food was lovely but the menu is quite small, not a lot to choose from and food is quite expensive . Booked a table for 7 and was not informed restaurant closed at 9, we felt the whole service from start to finish was a rush to get us in and out. Young girls working there were very pleasant and helpful however the lady who I presume owns or is manager of the restaurant is extremely rude and unwelcoming.

The restaurant has a fabulous location right on the harbour in Barna. Staff were a little bit disorganised but have lots of Covid measures in place to keep guests apart. The food was really nice (the chowder starter was probably one of the best I've ever had) and the main course of turbot and scallop was tasty too. Felt everything was nice but a bit overpriced.

Seafood was so fresh and our favorite was the Killary oysters, a must !!!! Incredible food and service. Staff was very welcoming and parking just outside the restaurant. In Galway city go out to Barna to O’Grady’s on the pier, you will have a wonderful Irish seafood experience.

O'Grady's on the Pier O'Grady's on the Pier is promoted as an iconic seafood restaurant, in Barna County Galway, and the title absolutely fits. The proud owner, Michael O'Grady, has a tradition of fishing in the family and this outstanding seafood restaurant specialises in fresh fish, the daily catch coming from Galway Bay just a stone’s throw away. It also has mussels, oysters, crabs, scallops and lobster on the menu. We had the grilled SEA BASS, with gamba prawns, sauté potato, spinach, chorizo, Sauce Béarnaise and the pan-fried TURBOT with Butternut squash, black pudding, asparagus, and citrus cream. There was a good wine list and beers, including six house wines. The location was perfect for us with the sun setting over the hills of County Clare and the ocean with crying seagulls in the foreground. The restaurant has received numerous awards over the years and is well worthy of them. A little bit of heaven and worth every penny/cent – we hope to return.

This place was packed to the rafters on our first attempt at getting in, so we made a booking for the following night, which turned out to be fairly quiet. The service was faultless, and our server was generous enough to bring out a cute teacup of soup despite not ordering a starter. Decided to go for the monkfish medallions served on top of Thai red curry, sweet potato and rice. Delicious - and the hake (served on top of spring onion mash), crème brûlée and crumble all went down a treat too. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Apparently Bono, Daniel Day-Lewis and Bill Murray have all been guests here - I can see the attraction!
