DO NOT GO HERE! Walked in to manager being nasty to employee, then he was nasty to our party of 3 because we did not have a reservation! He was NOT Irish and should NOT be running this restaurant!

Went for dinner after a 20 year gap. Food service good and tasty. Massive prices for what we got ( Starter was a killer at 11 quid plus for very little ) . Nice spot if you dont mind paying which I guess is a...good experienceMore
Excellent tasty food in lovely relaxed Irish pub setting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We brought our pet dog (part of the family) and we were well accommodated in a pet dedicated snug. They have also invested in a great outdoor pub and...tent with a huge TV. Great for watching the World Rugby with food/drink deals. We’ll be back. The live music great.More
We came in and didn't have a reservation but the man who greeted us got us a table with no problem. Ireland was about to play rugby in an hour or so and they were already getting busy. We offered to make sure we were...done by a certain time and he didn't ask us to. He asked us to take our time and enjoy the meal. The steak and the seafood chowder is what we dinner on and all was delicious. Kristina was taking care of us and she recommended the cheesecake and it did not disappoint.bshe was an awesome person. She always checked on us and made sure all was good. We were visiting from the USA and this nights dinner was my favorite. Thanks so much to everyone, especially Kristina, who made this experience so great!More
This spot was amazing. Even though the tables were reserved and none were available they still made an effort to give us a spot quickly and efficiently. Our first server was lovely but Kristina, who took over half way through the meal, was phenomenal (I'm...assuming she must have been the kitchen manager, if not then she deserves a promotion!). Food and service was exceptional, and the dessert she recommended was spot on. I'm from the states and will be added this place to my must visit again spots thanks to the food and the service Kristina Provided.More
Lunch today in Donnelly's was a fabulous unexpected treat. The staff were excellent, friendly and professional. They were happy to investigate quite a few allergen related queries from our group which was very reassuring. The children's menu is very reasonably priced, the portions were plenty...big to feed 2 always hungry 11 and 9 year old boys. We had fish and chips all round, the empty plates told their own story of a very enjoyable dish. Scrumptious desserts and a huge generous pot of tea finished off a highly enjoyable and not too expensive afternoon. We will definitely be back.More
Excellent spot for dinner! Great choice on the menu and the food was fantastic. Everything was reasonably priced too. Staff were all very attentive and pleasant. Easy to get a table without a booking
Terrific Sunday lunch today at Donnelly's, Barna. Outstanding service and food. Years since we had visited and we were delighted to find Donnelly's still open and as good as ever. Traditional friendly venue, menu with plenty of choice, food delicious, we had the mussels, brie...and hake, all recommended. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.More
We enjoyed a great evening, fine food and great service at Donnelly’s of Barna yesterday. Mary was especially attentive and we had a nice private seating area.
Have been here twice in past 2 weeks for lunch. Both meals were very good. Lovely, friendly attentive staff and comfortable place.
We had dinner here 3 nights in a row and each meal was wonderful. The first night the kitchen had already closed but they cooked for us anyway. So kind. Friendly staff and live music one of the nights. It was a very short walk...from our B&B so it worked out well. No drinking and driving!More
Friday night family dinner party. I have long visited this pub and restaurant over many years. The restaurant service and food was a bit below standard in the last 2 years. I am glad to report it is now excellent! A lovely local pub ....Barna is lucky to have several great eateriesMore
Absolutely fantastic staff and great food. Was there for a large family gathering and the management and staff couldn’t do enough to help us, from hungry children to specific dietary requirements, they were excellent. Food was delicious and delivered hot and in a timely manor…..overall…..made...the evening even better….Thank you.More
For the 2 nights that myself and my boyfriend were in Barna, Aaron in Donnellys could not do enough for us! He made our time here amazing with the atmosphere and customer service he provided! As someone who works in hospitality as a manager myself,...He deserves to be a supervisor or manager, we have never experienced someone love their job so much and give so much of their time to help others! Aaron, Thanks so much for going the extra mile! - Ben & LaleMore
Have dined here several times, but our most recent visit was very disappointing. The food was mostly okay (not great, the prawn salad consisted of 3 average-sized prawns), but the desserts were very below par. Instead of pavlova, as was advertised on the menu, three...(cheap) shop-bought meringues with fruit were presented on the plate. The other dessert was supposed to be a sticky toffee pudding, but it appeared to be some sort of dry muffin (not too sure what, perhaps bran), but it most definitely was not a sticky toffee pudding. I mentioned the desserts to the waiter, who agreed that they did not match the menu. It's difficult to understand how a restaurant like this could offer such below-par food, and yet charge full price - both of these desserts were charged at €7.50 each. If the restaurant is not in a position to produce something that is advertised (eg., pavlova) then they should just say that it's not available, but shouldn't pretend no one will notice that it's something quite different, of poor quality, and yet still charge full price. The service was attentive and polite, which at least softened the disappointment of the meal, but was not enough to make up for the substandard desserts.More
